This soap combines the invigorating scent of lemongrass with the natural repellant properties of citronella, leaving your skin feeling refreshed and protected.

Rosebuds from our garden, pink kaolin clay and rose geranium essential oil make up this beautiful bar.

We spent a couple of hours yesterday preparing their new space. All the kids helped with little complaining despite the heat.

A new batch of our Unicorn Goat Milk Soap is ready! Same scent, different colors. We've got to plan another trip to Purse State Park to collect more shells for another batch. It's such a fun soap to make.

A delicious blend of grapefruit, lemon, orange and jasmine essential oils. I hand ground some annatto seeds to get the pop of yellow on the top.

This pretty bar was made during a soap demonstration at The Tidewater Montessori School. The students sent us these sweetest thank you cards 💜 The 3rd image is a snap of the soaps they made during our visit. They got to embellish their bars of soaps they made during my trip to their school.

This go around we are having the kids document every cost associated with raising the birds so they can learn how much it truly costs to raise your own food! We are also going to try really hard despite our busy schedules to document the whole process!

My helper was measuring out the essential oil for our Bergamot & Rosemary bar. I hand crafted the rosemary powder myself from our rosemary that adds a bit of color and that classic earthy & woodsy aroma. 🌿

Can't wait for this batch of our Unicorn Goat Milk Soap to be ready! We picked up the shells from Purse State Park on one of our many homeschool adventures. 🐚

I changed up the look of this batch, leaving the main part of the bar white. Then, I used some handcrafted orange peel powder and saffron for the top of the bar. The original Unicorn Goat Milk Soap batch is solid pink.

Did I mention how good it smells?! So good.

✨️Our seasonal Dandelion Goat Milk Soap is ready to go! My daughters and I harvest them from our yard when in season to help color this beautiful bar. 😍 We definitely have the only dandelions in our neighborhood 😆 It's such an underappreciated plant.

✨️Research has looked at dandelion's anti-inflammatory properties, related to skin issues. Using dandelion to help soothe redness and swelling from skin conditions, like rosacea, cystic acne, eczema, and psoriasis, can make the skin look less irritated.

✨️As an antibacterial, germicide and anti-fungal ingredient, dandelion can help detoxify the skin, clears out pores, gets rid of acne and may help prevent acne breakouts in the future.

✨️With its anti-aging properties, dandelion extract may also help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Two years ago, my best friend (Healing Haven Farm) and I decided we wanted to give our children the experience of raising an animal from birth to butcher. We had raised chickens together before but wanted them to experience something more, so we decided to get Kune Kune pigs. Not only did we hand raise them for 2 years, but they were born and bred on Cate's farm. We raised them on pastures, with local compost, a local non GMO feed and lots of love! Today is butcher day!

We've had lots of discussions this week about our pigs, especially my favorite Leonard. We greatly appreciate the sacrifice they are making to nourish our families. As Cate said, I feel honored to have gone on this adventure with one of my most favorite people on this plant. I am honored that our children truly know where their next round of bacon will come from and that they all helped daily to raise & take care of our pigs. 🐖

Now, we're planning our next adventure together! Wish our husbands Good Luck! 😆

In the fall, we had an adventure at Purse State Park. We collected many shells and little fossils while we walked along the Potomac River. These little shells inspired the latest bar of soap. 🐚

✨️Lemongrass & Citronella Goat Milk Soap✨️

The fresh citrus is a blend of citronella and lemongrass essential oils. These essential oils have antibacterial, anti fungal, antiseptic, and disinfectant properties.

These properties exist due to lemongrass’s high monoterpene content. The monoterpenes of neral and geranial exist in large amounts in lemongrass and serve to kill bacteria existing on the skin.

Citronella essential oil has a soothing and calming effect on the skin and can help reduce redness and irritation. Its pleasant lemony scent can help naturally deodorize your skin, too!

Sliced up a new batch of Dandelion Goat Milk Soap at while doing a cold process soap demonstration. Unfortunately, I took zero pictures and didn't think to have my kiddos take pictures either. 😕 Each student got to make their own mini soap bar. They chose while flowers & herbs they wanted in their soap.

Like the Dandelion Goat Milk Soap from last spring, we used foraged dandelion petals from our yard with a boost from some saffron to get the yellow. A mixture of green sea clay and bentonite clay gave us the gray/green for the bottom of the bar.
