☘️ It’s not just luck

It’s the final day of the H Squad’s resilience week. It’s been fun and now it’s time to really focus on implementing resilience into our lives. Considering our brains are wired to think negatively, this can be tough but if you work hard every day at it, eventually positivity will become a habit for you 🤗

“Now that we are heading toward the tail end of resilience week, we would like to encourage you to put some things you’ve learnt into practice. I personally sat down with a cup of tea this afternoon and wrote a list of positives from my week. This has me heading into the weekend in a positive headspace. Practising gratitude at the end of the day and/or week makes me realise that even through every day might not be good, there is something good in every day.” - Ash McConnell

“When I face challenges or obstacles, I usually try to define my control zone and my boundaries clearly. Such reminds me what I can do about the problem at hand and helps me to accept what I am not able to do. Then I write down my actions to solve that problem step by step and follow that plan.” - Sepideh Ranjouri

“Making time to exercise every day whether it be 15 minutes or an hour to keep myself level minded.” - Georgia Scott

“Trying to be more aware of my response to events, a 10 minute meditation (or just blasting music) at the beginning or end of day and setting SMART goals help me to be more resilient.” - Sadia J Tithi

is a brilliant book that will stay with you long after you finish the last page. Hugh educates the reader on resilience through funny, heartwarming and sad stories. Hugh’s theory is the three key principles to being happy and resilient are;

🟦 GRATITUDE
You can practice gratitude by reflecting on things that went well for you at the end of every day and by thinking about, writing down or telling someone what you’re most looking forward to tomorrow. If you do this everyday, looking for the positives will eventually become a habit and in turn you will be more resilient and feel happier.

🟩 EMPATHY
Caring about others and practicing kindness not only makes the person your being empathetic toward happy, it actually makes us happier too! If we are all a little kinder and a little more empathetic toward one another, society would become an incredible place. Making others feel good makes us feel good. Try it.

🟨 MINDFULNSS
It’s not just about meditating, mindfulness can be practised in many ways! Go for a walk without your headphones, take mental notes of things you hear, see, smell or feel. Write them down when you get home.
