“Crying over peace” embroidery I started over a year ago on a light denim jacket and never finished because I don't know what other elements to add (suggestions are welcome).
War, death, grief, oppression have been an overpowering theme of my life for almost two years now and I'm mentally preparing for 2024 to be even worse with everything going down in the world.
It's been extremely hard holding on to something good and beautiful, most of the time I don't succeed.
Anyways. Hope you guys having a nice day and enjoying this ride❤️ I'd be happy to know someone is😘

Constantly internally crying rivers over peace or better to say a lack of it.

I created this simplified design for a workshop based on the traditional Ukrainian towel (photo 3; late 19 century). We will gather with some Ukrainian girls to embroider, meditate on it, have a warm gathering.
Traditional Ukrainian embroidery has very different motives and looks - it can be geometric, lines, florals etc. but all of them have messages and meaning encrypted.
One of the biggest themes is a Tree of Life.

As a rule, the Tree of Life is embroidered with beautiful flowers on the branches. Flowers are considered symbols of human life, which is happening now, buds are used to indicate future new generations, fruits show the deeds of people, done for the good of the universe. Next to the Tree, on two sides, various elements are often placed. These elements complement the symbolism of the Tree of Life and depict ether - the life force that fills space. From above, the Tree must have a central element - a flower, which symbolizes the Fire of Life, unquenchable, full of natural energy that supports endless life. The fire is guarded by two spirits in the form of angels or birds. Sometimes spirits are represented by the souls of deceased ancestors who protect the Family Tree from destructive forces.
In my simplified version I encrypted a darker and sad base as a symbol of the sorrows Ukrainian lands are going through, it is still blooming though. I incorporated a green-white-red branch a bird is sitting on to honour Mexican lands that are hosting us at the moment.
In folk art elements are usually playing more of a symbolic roles so they are portrayed in a simple and naive way as opposed to show craftsmanship.

Going for the longest trip in my life.
I am on my way to spend the next 10 days in silence and meditation (16hours a day).
I will not be reachable, only by my emergency contact.
I’ve heard of Vipassana loooong time ago and I always knew I’d do it at some point. The point has been reached, I felt a need for it.
The war and all the cruelty and injustice in it messed with me hard, my mind blew up and I started loosing hope in humanity.

I’ve heard that evil by itself is small and pity. It’s ignorance and support of others that make it big.
I am having the hardest time to keep on living through it.

Desperate times - desperate measures, therapy wouldn’t cut it this time😄 so for the next 10 days I’m going into silence, wish me luck🥰
No expectations, will see what comes out of it✨

But I’m pretty sure I know the feeling🫠 I get you girl

I have NEVER thought this would be the kind of posts I would be making in 2022.

Today I read on Bloomberg that there was a first successful brain implant in US patient.

And at the same time in the same reality a bunch of morons are living with no toilets thinking they are the greatest nation in the world. They have s**t tons of land and 140 million people in it. Over 90% of those people live poor. Their country has tons of resources and yet almost half of russia has to use firewood because getting gas to their villages IS NOT PROFITABLE.

So these millions of morons are cheering up killing people who changed the course of their progress towards peace, democracy, social and economical growth.

Even worse that there are cute westernies who support these actions. Who think they are gonna be so cool to have different opinion. Who tell Ukrainians they should stop resisting to stop the war.
There are also far left cuties who dream of socialism and scream loud about not interfering and not supporting Ukraine from under their pink glasses.

I used to have pink glasses on. The biggest lesson I got within last 5 months is that the world is full of cruel people and there is no place for pink glasses when those cruel and dumb people have weapons.
Now I am convinced that peace and Good needs to be armed and powerful not only with intentions but with weapons. I can only imagine we could disarm evil but in reality we as humans are not there, are we?
Leave a comment if you read the whole thing, yay to you🤩🙌🏼🫂

Hello🌼
I’m finally presenting you this collection of 10 flower earrings.

They are mix-and-match, you can pick any two of them! $115 for a pair, shipping within US included. You can also buy just one of them for $70.

Basic colors I picked are white, red, blue and yellow. Anything I make these days is influenced by the w⭐️r that is happening in my Home right now (Instagram is shadow banning me for all the talks about it so now I gotta crypt some words). So yellow and blue are Ukraine influenced, red is for love and 🩸 and white is for ☮️. But I’ve made these earrings the way that it’s not obvious what they are about. They are also just very pretty and look fire on❤️‍🔥 Big and light, chunky and tender at the same time🥰

National Gallery renames Degas’ Russian Dancers as Ukrainian Dancers

“For cultures that have experienced oppression for centuries, the moment of understanding and developing their culture is vital,” Naiem told Hyperallergic. “Russian imperialism destroyed everything related to Ukrainian culture for centuries: the Ukrainian language was subject to linguicide, writers were exiled, poets were shot, and some artists were killed in unthinkable ways.”

“Even after Ukraine became independent, Russian culture remained hegemonic until 2014. More than ever, we must understand what each forgotten Ukrainian artifact, appropriated artist, or cultural object is worth to us,” Naiem added.

Ukrainian artists that russia proclaimed russian we all know-
Malevich, Aivazovsky, Repin, Kuindzhi, Murashko, Burliuk, Aleksandra Ekster
