Heads up.
Storms are coming and they could go severe tomorrow around dinner time. The NWS Storm Prediction Center puts parts of MD TN west of 65 at a 5 percent chance of tornadoes. It's low...but can't rule it out.
I-24 toward Chattanooga is CLOSED at the Rutherford Co/Bedford Co line due to a crash.
Deputies are re-routing traffic at the Buchanan Road exit onto U.S. Highway 41/70.
It's apt to get lively.
Let's talk about this weekend. A strong cold front is poised move across Middle Tennessee Saturday afternoon, evening and into the overnight hours. We are expecting significant rainfall and a threat of severe storms, primarily late Saturday afternoon and evening. Here are the highlights:
* There is a slight risk of severe storms (2 out of 5) for most areas west of I-65. The remainder of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberland Plateau is under a marginal risk (1 out of 5).
* The primary threat is going to be damaging straight-line winds. The risk of tornadoes and large hail is very low.
* Rainfall amounts from early Saturday morning through Sunday evening are going to range from about 1.5" to maybe 2.5".
* Temperatures will turn sharply colder on Sunday. Don't be surprised if you see some light snow mix with the rain Sunday afternoon. Cumberland Plateau residents might even end up with light snow accumulations (a tenth of an inch or two) Sunday evening before the precipitation ends altogether.
I-40 westbound is CLOSED in Dickson due to a crash.
Yessir! My daughter’s first post as social media coordinator for BR’ Middle Tennessee.

Fought hard but came up short. Special teams killed us.

Statement from Michael Alford, Vice President and Athletics Director, Florida State University
"The consequences of giving in to a narrative of the moment are destructive, far reaching, and permanent. Not just for Florida State, but college football as a whole."
"The argument of whether a team is the 'most deserving OR best' is a false equivalence. It renders the season up to yesterday irrelevant and significantly damages the legitimacy of the College Football Playoff. The 2023 Florida State Seminoles are the epitome of a total TEAM. To eliminate them from a chance to compete for a national championship is an unwarranted injustice that shows complete disregard and disrespect for their performance and accomplishments. It is unforgiveable."
"The fact that this team has continued to close out victories in dominant fashion facing our current quarterback situation should have ENHANCED our case to get a playoff berth EARNED on the field. Instead, the committee decided to elevate themselves and 'make history' today by departing from what makes this sport great by excluding an undefeated Power 5 conference champion for the first time since the advent of the BCS/CFP era that began 25 years ago. This ridiculous decision is a departure from the competitive expectations that have stood the test of time in college football."
"Wins matter. Losses matter. Those that compete in the arena know this. Those on the committee who also competed in the sport and should have known this have forgotten it. Today, they changed the way success is assessed in college football, from a tangible metric - winning on the field - to an intangible, subjective one. Evidently, predicting the future matters more."
"For many of us, today's decision by the committee has forever damaged the credibility of the institution that is the College Football Playoff. And, saddest of all, it was self-inflicted. They chose predictive competitiveness over proven performance; subjectivity over fact. They have become a committee of prognosticators. They have abandoned their responsibility by discarding their purpose – to evaluate performance on the field."
"Our players, coaches, and fans - as well as all those who love this sport - deserve better. The committee failed college football today."
Here it is.
Based on what the CFP boss said on Tuesday … who do you say is in the CFP?
“It is best," CFP executive director Bill Hancock said Tuesday. "Most deserving is not anything in the committee's lexicon. They are to rank the best teams in order, and that's what they do. Just keep that word in mind: best teams."
Based on “best” teams at this point …
1. Michigan
2. Washington
3. Texas
4. ‘Bama
Deserving
1. Michigan
2. Washington
3. Florida St
4. Texas
Everyone is undefeated except for Texas. Texas won their conference and beat ‘Bama on the road who beat Georgia to win the SEC.
1 Michigan
2 Washington
3 Florida St
4 Texas
Freaking love their defense.

FUTTBOWL!!! Huskies leave no questions. ‘Bama needs Georgia to make mistakes. Otherwise Dawgs TCB. Michigan rolls and Florida State gets beat by the Ville. Horns should beat the Pokes, but who knows how that game is going to go. OkState is a weird team.
Boise State takes on a Las Vegas team coached by two badass Okies. I’m pulling for the Mustangs in the AAC. Vandals try to advance to the 3rd round in the FCS.
Whachy’all think?
No question.
2023 PAC 12 CHAMPIONS 🏆☔️
Let’s win this one. We need big plays from the defense and special teams. We can do this.
Game Preview: Titans Open December with Colts at Nissan Stadium Kickoff is scheduled for noon CST on Sunday, Dec. 3.
Nice! And I think the Ville is gonna win.
Somebody with the SEC Network does not like OU and Texas. 😆

Boy. Horrible showing by both offenses.
Titans win!
Cats end the regular season with a win.
Taking the Governor's Cup back to Lexington.
Very Big 12 kind of way to depart the Big 12. Horrible defense. But 10-2 is better than 6-7. BOOMER SOONER. Always.
Great player!!
9,000 career rushing yards for King Henry 👑
FUTTBOWL! Jalen Milroe’s pass was perfect! Wolverines and Buckeyes HAMMERED each other. I’m gonna watch it again just for the hitting! And how extremely disappointing that my Sooners are departing the Big 12 while our biggest rivals go for the conference championship. Man, I love college football.
One of the wildest finishes ever!! Wow!!
FUTTBOWL!!
Good matchups today but I am hyper focused on the one in Stillwater. Go Cougars of BYU!!! HAWW, Sooners need those cowboys to lose. Yessir!!! Who are y’all watching?
