The Doric String Quartet is one of the finest quartets of their generation.
They won first prize at the 2008 Osaka Competition, regularly perform concerts all over the globe and are exculsive recording artists for Chandos Records.

Our 21/22 season came to a close with a wonderful week
We performed the Bartok Cycle for the 3rd time alongside other favourite pieces by Brett Dean and Elgar Quintet with Alasdair Beatson. A memorable end to a momentous season! We'll be back in September

We've had a very busy 3 weeks - A cruise to Norway with Alasdair Beatson, concerts in Denmark at the Sommerkoncerter på Langeland festival with Pieter Wispelwey, Julius Drake, pianist, Angelika Kirchschlager and James Gilchrist, and a wonderful week at the Peasmarsh Festival in East Sussex. Next stop Wigmore Hall then the West Cork Chamber Music Festival in Ireland.
This is coming up in a couple of weeks. Can't wait to be back in Denmark!

We've just finished recording part 1 of our Haydn Op 64 cd for Chandos Records and our first using classical/transition bows! So excited about this new venture! You can hear us and them next season at Wigmore Hall where we'll be playing Op 20, Op 64, and the Seven Last Words across 5 concerts.
We've had a great time at Konzerthaus Berlin playing Schubert G as part of the celebration of Alfred Brendel. Fun to play in the Grosser Saal albeit facing the wrong way! Interesting rehearsal set up too...

Leicester International Music Festival
Crystalline textures and an astonishing control of timbre from the Doric String Quartet in today's Lunchtime Concert at the New Walk Museum: Britten's String Quartet No 3 was utterly compelling.
Something strange is going on in Doric Land... We're playing Mozart for the first time in 8 years. Such a treat to get stuck in to K.589, the B flat "Prussian". Concert this lunchtime at the New Walk Museum and Art Gallery in Leicester along with Britten 3.
We've had a wonderful time in New England at the Middlebury College Performing Arts Series and Union College Concert Series in Schenetady. Now from minus 13 to the heat of Florida and West Palm Beach! Oh, and some good beer along the way...
