"When you become immersed in your creation, your brain gets recharged from the focus. It can actually help to reduce stress and improve your ability to deal with things that are going on around you. Many different forms of art can help you experience this, including painting." Psychrec.org

This! ❤ And more of it! Maybe the best thing I saw while on a little vacay in Cali- Pismo Beach 🌊💛☀️
Interesting that this week acknowledged both World Mental Health Day & National Coming Out Day. These are two "arenas" that are very near and dear to my heart because these aren't days we acknowledge once a year. They are part of our lives & acknowledged in some manner daily. I am the mama to the most amazingly, talented, passionate young man... oh ya and he is gay. Mental health plays a part of our daily lives within our family. I would NEVER ever change anything! All that has entered our family and my journey has proven to gift me something much greater.
To listen without the need to answer or fix. Not everything needs to be fixed. Just safely heard. ❤ To love whole heartedly without judgement or strings attached. Just love. ❤ To trust that Holy Spirit moves through me and never leaves me. ❤ That is faith.
I am love and there is no place, no journey or no experience I would rather have. ❤
Love>Fear
One of the most asked questions this month, in all my conversations around & about su***de prevention and education has been "What are the warning signs of Su***de?". The Trevor Project offers a great resource sharing warning signs and how to identify risk factors of su***de. You can find the links to these very important "NEED TO KNOW" conversations in the comments.
Crystal and Sherra wrap September up with a review and debrief of the conversations held with our guests around su***de, grief, and all the feels that come with this loss.
Friend, colleague and Grief Coach, Wendy Sloneker, will join Crystal & Sherra as we continue our conversation centered around Su***de Prevention and Education. Wendy supports souls who have suffered loss, as they navigate finding joy again and regaining a sense of aliveness. She will share with us the emotions of shame, guilt and aloneness that so very often accompanies our grief with su***de. This is guaranteed to be a deep, meaningful conversation filled with grace, compassion and empathy ❤

It is National Su***de Prevention Week!
Does your tween/teen know about 988? When people call, text, or chat 988, they will be connected to trained counselors that are part of the existing Lifeline network. These trained counselors will listen, understand how their problems are affecting them, provide support, and connect them to resources if necessary.
The number is easy to remember and is for people in emotional distress or suicidal as well as for their loved ones . The 988Lifeline.org will also connect you via chat with a support person.
Talk about this number with your tween/teen, post it in places that they are most likely to see it as a reminder. Just like we know the value in 911, 988 can save lives too!
I wake today with a grateful heart! This picture IS everything and reminds of the work that I so have missed and fills me! ❤ After 2.5 years of facilitating via Zoom, yesterday I stepped in front of 65 team members and facilitated IN PERSON! The conversation was rich and connections powerful. This is community! 🤟 Thank You Bethany and the EdCC Headstart team for inviting me to present. I SEE YOU HOLY WORKERS! Thank you for showing up every day for our kids, families and community.
My heart is so full! ❤
