Too much work, but why not enough time..!!
We would have heard from lot of people, that "there are too much of work, but there is not enough time." Why not, we would have talked ourselves out of it too. There is a Turkish story for all of us.
Once a country king went for hunting. He was so focused on hunting that he did not know the time had passed. Night has come. He could not return to the palace. So on the way he stayed at a weaver's house. The weaver does not know that the man, who has come was a king. When the king woke up in the next day morning the weaver was weaving a yarn.
A rope was tied in the weaver's hand. The king asked “Why this rope?” He replied, “To push the baby in the cradle. If it cries, I can do it, while weaving”
The king saw a long stick near him and asked “Why?”. He said, “My wife spread grains outside to dry. If the birds come to eat it, I will chase them away with this long stick while I am weaving.
That weaver had tied a small bell at his waist. The king asked “Why this was?” He told, “Often rats will enter the house, I will shake the bell, by weaving. It will run away due to that sound”
The king saw through the window some boys standing outside the house. He asked “Who are they?” He replied, “While weaving, my mouth is idle. So I teach them some lessons, which I learnt? But the king asked “Why they had to stand outside.” The weaver said with a smile. “They dig the soil with their feet to plant the plants while learn the lesson.”
There were some papers near the weaver. King asked “What are they?” He replied, “Oh... my wife is a Greek woman. She leaves me with 10 Greek words on a piece of paper every day. After teaching the boys, I will learn to read it while weaving.
The king was astounded.
Postponing work as there is no time is an illusion. 24 hours is always there for everyone. Not only hard work is enough, planning and serious hard work is must.
Best wishes.
