Walt Herreid was a remarkable human being. I knew him best at gigs. He breathed music in and out and that unbridled love for it was often most powerfully expressed through his dancing. I’m sure some of you may vividly remember how he joyously gyrated and creatively flailed across the dance floor. Walt was also a kind-hearted soul who exuded genuine optimism. It was always a joy to converse with him between sets about music and the area around Ballaine and Herreid where our families lived. I’ll never forget that excited grin on his face. Here’s a beautifully-written tribute to him. RIP Walt and thank you for the positive light, music, and dance you brought to the world.
