Details on paper of “UROBOROS” ✨🐍💀

I always like to take close ups of my work, specially when there’s so many intricate details on it. I have to say I had a lot of fun exploring the possibilities of my lines on this one, most of it was made with brush and ink, but I also used nibs and Micron markers for straight lines (in case you’re curious)

I’m definitely doing prints of this one, thank you so much to everyone who’s been interested and thanks for all your kind words, truly appreciated ✨🫰🏽🙏🏽

Me gusta hacer Close ups de mi trabajo, especialmente cuando tiene tanto detalle. Debo decir que me divertí mucho explorando las posibilidades de mis líneas en este, la mayor parte fue hecha con pincel y tinta, pero también usé plumillas y marcadores Micron para líneas rectas (en caso de que tengas curiosidad).

“A skeleton lies surrounded by living nature and a mystical snake coils around it as it eats itself, representing the endless cycle of existence, where the earthly and the mystical intertwine. The piece invites us to reflect on the interconnection of these opposites, highlighting the beauty and reflection that emerges even in the darkest moments.”

I did two versions of this drawing, this one in ink and a colorful one made in gouache for ‘s anniversary collective show. The show opens this Thursday, if you’re in Mexico City, see you there.

I really liked this drawing, and I’m thinking to do a limited silkscreen print series of this one, please let me know if you’re interested in this post ✨🙏🏽

“Un esqueleto yace rodeado de naturaleza viva y una serpiente mística se enrosca a su alrededor mientras se devora a sí misma, representando el ciclo infinito de la existencia, donde lo terrenal y lo místico se entrelazan. La pieza nos invita a reflexionar sobre la interconexión de estos opuestos, resaltando la belleza y la reflexión que emerge incluso en los momentos más oscuros”.

Hice dos versiones de este dibujo, una en tinta y otra a todo color hecha en gouache para la muestra colectiva de aniversario de . La muestra se inaugura este jueves, si estás en la Ciudad de México, nos vemos ahí.

Year of the dragon 🐉✨

Here some details of my year of the dragon’s Piece. All the illustration was made with Sumi and bamboo brushes that I got on my last trip to Japan. I’m very happy with the result and I’m looking forward to share this with you.

I did this illustration a year ago in my iPad and didn’t like it that much at the time, i tried add color or more elements but nothing convinced me. I recently found it and it felt weird to see a drawing I don’t remember make it , it makes me appreciate it with different eyes and this time, I don’t think it needs anything else 🖤✨

Another one from my Solo Show “Botánica Fantástica” at ✨🇯🇵. This one is also one of my favorites, Hummingbirds has been in my memory since I was a child, and early in my career I used to draw them a lot, I do t know why I stopped but it feels good to take it back. My mom and grandmother says that every time a Hummingbird is around, love is in the air, every time I saw one I think about this and is a warm feeling. ✨🖤

I found the flowers that inspired this at the UNAM Botanical garden, thanks for showing me this place .pal 🫶🏽✨

This flower it’s been always one of my favorites, I love the movement and possibilities on the shapes of the petals, symbol of duel and Lost in some cultures, but for me a flower that’s been around my entire life. The Caterpillar on the leaf symbolizes transformation, the road to become something else. Very fun to do this piece 🫶🏽✨

This piece was part of my last Solo Show “Botánica Fantástica” at 🇯🇵and is personally one of my favorites. The pallete was inspired by the colors of Mexico City Sky when the sun goes down and up, is a beautiful transition of Violet, Orange, yellow that slowly turns into Blue. I found The roses that inspired this drawing in Xochimilco Park. The last couple days the sky it’s been beautiful, and I wanted to share with you the thoughts haha.

La paleta se inspiró en los colores del cielo de la Ciudad de México cuando el sol sale y se oculta, es una hermosa transición de Violeta, Naranja, amarillo que poco a poco se convierte en Azul. The last painting of 2023 I did for the inauguration of my friend .blackart gallery at .projectmx . The show name was “CORPUS” the concept was to use the traditional template of a tattoo back piece as a canvas to do a reflection of the body. The 1st reflection I had is Skin, the largest organ in our body and the 1st layer between us and the world surrounding us, our media to experiment this nonsense world and directly interact with others. Touch is Love.

El nombre de la Expo era “CORPUS” y el concepto era utilizar la plantilla tradicional de un tatuaje en la espalda como lienzo para hacer un reflejo del cuerpo. La primera reflexión que tuve fue la piel, el órgano más grande de nuestro cuerpo y la primera capa entre nosotros y el mundo que nos rodea, nuestro medio para experimentar este mundo sin sentido e interactuar directamente con los demás. Tocar es amor.

Being this my first show outside my country it feels like a very surreal experience, meet new people, be able to collaborate with artists that I admire, I couldn’t be more grateful.

This exhibition takes flowers as its protagonist, and is a tribute to the images of the floating world (Ukiyo E), where color, lines and elements can (or cannot) direct the viewer to search for meaning in them, making elements of Mexican culture present, flowers that I found in my city, fauna that inhabits them, and one or another element out of place, which together make images that more than imitate reality, they resignify and interpret it. Where imagination, surrealism, life, death and their cycle are present.

I’m very excited for this, and looking forward to take my work there, thanks to Tsubame studio to make it possible. The exhibition opens Nov. 23, If you’re at Tokyo at the time, see you there ✨✌🏽👁️

Im very happy to announce my next solo show, and the first one outside my Country: Botánica Fantástica:

This exhibition takes flowers as its protagonist, and is a tribute to the images of the floating world (Ukiyo E), where color, lines and elements can (or cannot) direct the viewer to search for meaning in them, making elements of Mexican culture present, flowers that I found in my city, fauna that inhabits them, and one or another element out of place, which together make images that more than imitate reality, they resignify and interpret it. Where imagination, surrealism, life, death and their cycle are present.

I’m very excited for this, and looking forward to take my work there, thanks to Tsubame studio to make it possible. The exhibition opens Nov. 23, If you’re at Tokyo at the time, see you there ✨✌🏽👁️

個展としては初の海外開催となる、私の新作展示の開催を発表します。タイトルは「Botánica Fantástica」。

この展覧会は、花を主役としており、浮世絵、すなわち浮遊する世界の図像、へのオマージュです。絵と対峙した者に、色、線、要素から意味を探させたり、あるいは探させなかったりするでしょう。
メキシコの文化的要素、私が街で見つけた花、植物相、そして花らしからぬ要素、これらを組み合わせることで、現実の模倣以上のなにか、すなわち現実を再定義し、解釈するイメージを作り出しています。想像力、シュルレアリスム、生と死、そしてそのサイクルが現出します。

ツバメスタジオの協力のもと、私の作品を皆さんにご覧いただくことができる今回の展示をとても楽しみにしています。展示は11月23日から始まりますので、ぜひお越しください✨✌🏽👁️
