If you are having trouble losing weight your microbiome balance could be the reason!
My best advice is to eat prebiotic foods on a regular basis. Prebiotic foods feed the good bugs. Radish and asparagus are 2 of my favorite prebiotic foods.
It's also a good idea to take a high quality probiotic supplement. When buying a probiotic make sure you are buying from a reputable brand or you could be wasting your money.
I have an online dispensary filled with high quality brands at a discount. PM or comment below if you want access and I'll send you the link.

Makeup of an individual's gut bacteria may play role in weight loss A preliminary study suggests that, for some people, specific activities of gut bacteria may be responsible for their inability to lose weight, despite adherence to strict diet and exercise regimens.
Be smart about the kind of exercise you engage in. Menopause is a time when our adrenals are over worked. Exercising like you're 20 years old will actually make symptoms worse.
Do you exercise? If so does it help your menopause symptoms?
Running and menopause: what you need to know - Canadian Running Magazine How "the change" can affect your running, and how running can help with symptoms
Do you have low energy?
Low Energy is a usually reported as a symptom of menopause but the cause of it is really something else.
Many women in menopause or peri-menopause feel a decline in energy. There are two main reasons that you may not be feeling as energetic as you once did.
#1. Examine your relationships. Family, friends, and business associates could be literally zapping your energy. Your internal critic or your own negative thoughts can be doing the same thing.
#2. You haven't given your body the fuel it needs to do all of the things that you want or need to do everyday. Your body changes in menopause and it needs higher quality and different amounts of fuel. (nutrition)
I thought stretching was a water of time. Woozer!! I was wrong. Since I've started stretching my body I feel great. I am addicted!
Stretching for 10 minutes a day 'eases symptoms of menopause' Japanese scientists found that women who stretched for 10 minutes a day, before going to bed, saw improvement in their body aches, mood and sleep. But, the exercise didn't appear to relieve hot flashes.
I was a cardio fanatic for many years. Just like you, right??
I learned the hard way ( ) Weight lifting or resistance training of some kind gets more important as we age.
Did you know that starting at middle age we actually lose muscle?? I didn't. So what, right??
Well, no.That means your metabolism slows down and that means you GAIN weight by just doing what you've always done and eating the same. I know it's not fair. So get in that weight room and lift!!!!
Let me know if you already do resistance training??
How Weight Training Can Help Women Stay Strong The government recommends that adults engage in two sessions a week of resistance training to maintain muscle and prevent injury. Most of us aren't getting close to that, but it's easy to catch up.

Exercise can make menopause a whole lot more manageable. But it has to be the right kind. Weight gain, pre-diabetes and high cholesterol are common problems menopausal women face. Try Nordic walking and Pilates. Both have been shown to help promote menopause health?
If you are trying to lose weight and are finding it difficult it might not be your fault. Food science has become big business. They use chemicals and additives that "trick" your taste buds into craving more and what's worse is that you never feel full. If you're eating packaged, processed foods look at the ingredients. If you see a long list that you can't pronounce chances are you are tricking your body. This isn't reel food. The best way to avoid this trap is to stick with less processed, whole foods. Learn to shop on the perimeters of the grocery store. This is where you can find the healthiest foods. http://www.newswise.com/articles/overeating-and-overweight-the-weight-loss-game-may-be-rigged-against-you

"When you stop telling yourself stories about your body, about your eating, about your life, you stop having to eat to fix how awful you feel because you stop feeling awful."
Ask yourself if what you are telling yourself is true. Is it true that your body is ugly? Don’t answer so fast! (I heard you!) Ask yourself to what and whom you are comparing yourself? To a younger version of yourself? To a 20-year-old or an actress who works out three hours a day? Your body is the piece of the universe you’ve been given, the place where love and joy and grief happen, where happiness unfolds. Do you really want to keep believing that it’s a horrible, ugly, lumpy thing? Do you really want to keep punching yourself like that? (Call me psychic, but I have a feeling that the answer is no.)
When you stop telling yourself stories about your body, about your eating, about your life, you stop having to eat to fix how awful you feel because you stop feeling awful. Then and only then can you actually figure out what is really true. What you really want. What you really feel. What you really believe.
Ask yourself what would happen if you stopped the incessant chatter about how lumpy or stretchy or ugly your body is. What would happen if, instead, you thanked your body for taking you this far. For schlepping packages and bearing children and making love. Then listen to it carefully to see what it needs.
Sorry but I have to say this----> Carbohydrates, even complex ones, need to be very limited for hormone balance. Carbs cause fluctuations in blood sugar, which in turn creates an insulin response. Insulin is a hormone that promotes body fat. But, body fat isn’t the only reason to avoid carbs. These fluctuations in blood sugar also make menopausal symptoms much worse.

The more fat a person has, the more estrogen stored in their fat cells. Extra estrogen causes unstable mood, heavy monthly flow, anxiety and could even cause . Even losing as little as five pounds can make help reduce estrogen and help you to feel better. If you are having trouble losing weight there are a few things you can do. l
Look at your adrenal function. Make sure you aren't . Try cutting out gluten to see if you have a sensitivity and make sure you aren't resistant. All of these things can be managed once you are aware of what's wrong.

Diet is essential for hormone balance. There are foods that can literally help the production of our hormones. Low fat and fat free diets have caused a major problem in our society. Not only do these diets promote carbs and sugars, but they are starving our bodies of the very components it needs to manufacture hormones! Most all the hormones in our bodies are created from fat and cholesterol. If we don’t eat adequate amounts, than hormone production is affected.
I am NOT saying that not all fat is healthy. Processed oils like canola, and soy oils are toxic to the system as are transfats like hydrogenated oils. Some examples of healthy fats include:
• Olive Oil
• Coconut Oil
• Avocado Oil
• Ghee
• Organic Butter
• Eggs (great source of fat and cholesterol that's needed for healthy hormone production)
Do you have trouble sleeping? If so, when do you take your vit D? It's a bad idea to take late in the day or before bed because studies have shown that taking it close to bedtime can change the natural production of melatonin production which can cause disturbed sleep. Also It's a fat soluble vitamin that needs fat for proper absorption. Take vitamin D early in the day with food. http://simplegoodhealth.com/services/get-free-guide/
