Thank you those who have visited my page here the past few years. I am sorry I have become an artistic "hermit". Funny, but I realized after looking at this page that I have not added anything new here in about 2 years. It's incredible how time flies. The last 3 years of my artistic career turned into a sad nightmare for me. The failure of my gallery, the California Fine Arts Exhibition really "took the wind out of my sails" and cast me into one of the harshest and deepest depressions of my life. . I was hurt and scarred by the ordeal, but worse yet... some friends were also hurt in the process. It is this later issue I regret the most. I am truly sorry to those who were hurt. I am embarrassed to say that I have gained a lot of weight, and my health is not "up to par". My wife and I have moved out of California, and we now live in beautiful place in North Kitsap County of Washington State. I write this to let you know, I have experienced a wonderful spiritual awakening in my faith in Jesus Christ. And, through my newfound relationship with my God, I am healing and beginning to recover. The depression is beginning to diminish and I am finding for the first time in a very long time that I am finding meaning in my life. I am preparing my new studio (image below), and have even made a few attempts to get back into composing music. I have inklings to get back into art and design as well, but still feel a lot of pain when I even think about art, but I am getting there. This being said, I will NEVER try to run or operate a gallery again. If you see me heading down that path again, I ask my friends and family to give me a serious kick in the seat of my pants! 😆 I love you my friends. Your buddy, Craig

It's been a while since I have posted anything here, which I regret. I have some very exciting news to share soon about that I have been working on. I have been producing a Television show called Craig Sibley and the Finer Things. I have interviewed a number of very interesting people so far, including Gary L Wales, a collector of fine things and builder of over-the-top luxury automobiles, as well as Gary Conway, star of 60's television show "Land of the Giants". Gary Conway is also a tremendous painter and maker of some of the finest wines of the California Central Coast at his vineyard/winery Carmody/McKnight. I hope to share more links of the show very soon!

Sorry there have not been many new posts here, but I have been working feverishly on my current painting. I've been working on it for 2 years already, and feeling very good about the progress and could finish it in around 3 or 4 months. I am very, very excited with the way it is coming out. The detail is killing me, but I believe the effort will be my best ever! Those of you who have been to Paradigm Fine Arts in the Santora building have been able to see the progress. Please come visit on one of the Downtown Santa Ana ArtWalks, which are the first Saturday of each month!

I am excited to say I am opening the "Craig Sibley Fine Arts Gallery" at the historic Santora building in downtown Santa Ana. I am partnering with my good friends, Jeff Alu and Evalynn J. Alu. I am looking for one more partner, and am interested in adding an Artist/Jewelry maker, a Ceramic Artist, or Glass Artist (an artist who doesn't need wall space). If you are interested in partnering with us and you think your art might compliment what we do, please let me know via private message. I think you will be shocked at how little the investment is to be a part of this venture! Also my artist friends, if you know anyone who is one of these (Jewelry, Ceramic or Glass Artist) Here are a few pics of the building and "Suite I" where the gallery will be located, with a great view of Broadway and the cool vintage Art-Deco building across the street -

This piece was recently on display at the famous Neutra Institute, the original office of Modernist Architects Richard and Dion Neutra. I originally did it for Harvest India, an organisation which assists the Dalits (known as the untouchables in India). The name of the piece is "Overturning the Caste" and measures 6' X 6'. It is made of Mahogany, Aluminum, Steel and 3/4" Plexiglass.

I am available for portrait work! I work in high quality oil paints, and I believe you will be very happy with the results. I work from photographs, so no need for hours of sitting time. I have done a number paintings from old photographs of family members and such for gifts. The emotional response from the receiver has been quite moving! The first photo here is the iconic Audrey Hepburn in oils, the second is Georgia O'Keeffe in her 90's done in water color, and the third is a family in Yosemite in the mid 30's

This is a very large piece measuring 48" X 96" mounted under plexiglass. It is stunning in person, and was one of the center pieces for my recent solo exhibitions. I am currently offering this piece discounted for the holiday season for $3750.00. I guarantee, it is a knockout in person and was one of the most popular pieces in my shows! The title of the work is "6 lines after the Fibonacci Sequence". It is personally one of my (and my wife's) favorite pieces. It is hand-signed, and a personalized note is available from me to the receiver upon request.

My work "Shady's Jig" is kind of a "found art" piece. While I was at my friend's metal fabrication shop, I saw the metal part of the sculpture simply leaning up against the fence. It was a "jig" for bending curves in steel tube. By the way, the last name of my friend is Shady!

This is my largest sculpture to date... The advance of architecture. This particular view is from the rear (I can't find my other pictures of it! dang it). Would anyone have a shot from either of my two recent exhibitions?

Timeline photos 21/12/2014

I sold the second to the last of these prints today. I have one left at $300 if anyone is needing a last minute Christmas Present! It is printed on matte "rag" paper and measures 30" X 10" with a 2" white border surround. The print is hand signed, and I will include a special note to whoever you give it to!

This is my "vault" where I keep my large format oil paintings while I work. Always a slave to aesthetics, I had to make it look groovy also! hehe

Votrant Prose 21/12/2014

This is a CGI "animation" I did to one of my music compositions. With each new change in the music (added melody, part or change) a new element is introduced in the video. I hope you enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLbkNXkZVaE

This is a view of my solo exhibition Ein Gesamtkunstwerk from the upper mezzanine of the Yuma Fine Arts Association museum. It was a great show!

Timeline photos 03/07/2014

Gesamtkunstwerk is a term first utilized by the German theologian and philosopher Karl Friedrich Eusebius Trahndorff in an essay prepared during the year 1827. Originally a German term, it has come to be accepted in English as a term of aesthetics. Loosely translated, it might be explained as an “all encompassing artwork” or a “synthesis of the arts”. It was used often by Composer/Theater Director Richard Wagner as a work of art which attempts to make use of all or many mediums, or at the very least strives to do so. Therein, the integration of visual arts, design, literature, architecture, technology, music, fashion, and virtually any creative endeavor might be part of a gesamtkunstwerk.

As an artist who is a self admitted slave to aesthetics, I find myself unsatisfied with much of what I view in the world. Eating lunch I gaze at my spoon and think… “Why does this have to be so freaking ugly”? Perhaps it is this neurotic personality trait that has served me as a catalyst, a fire that burns within me to create a world whereby I can live my aesthetic fantasy.

Gesamtkunstwerk has become my lifestyle. For me, art is something far more than an object to hang on the wall. It is a way of living. Yes, it is a singular vision... but then again, it IS my fantasy!

I would be honored if you might join me at the opening reception at The OCCCA to view my eclectic world on August 2nd. I hope you enjoy!

This is my newest sculpture "Seeking UB2003-XB313 (Eris) which is currently on view at The Orange County Center for Contemporary Art. The sculpture is romatizes the discovery of a planet in our solar system twice as far as Pluto. The last photograph is a pic of Eugene Lally and me, while he told me a story of his friend Clyde Tombaugh (the discoverer of Pluto). It was a cool event for me, and made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end! Oh, by the way... Eugene Lally just happened to invent "digital photography" and his inventions have been on several spacecraft including the Voyager!

Super-Symmetric String Theory Sculpture 28/09/2013

This is my newest Sculpture design I hope to have built and completed before my Exhibitions at OCCCA and the Yuma Fine Arts Center next year. A brief explanation of what the sculpture is about is at the end of the video. I also composed and performed the music for the video. THe finished work will be approximately 35 feet long, 8' 6" tall and be fabricated out of Aluminum, Plexiglass and Masonite. I hope you enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nx1pavQssX0

Here's an update on my Refractive Series #1 piece. A few modifications have been made. Something was missing, and I believe this one really "pops".

Timeline photos 06/02/2013

Here's the next one I am working on. It will be four layers of Laser Cut Stainless Steel, with painted overlays. It will be around 3 foot tall, by 15" wide. It is the second in my "Refractive Series" and is tentatively called "San Andreas Conflagration";

This is the first of a new series of oil paintings I am calling the "Refractive Series". I discovered (invented?) while working on a recent commission a new process of an underpainting of complex brush strokes in metallic silver paint, and then using transparent colored glazes over it. It makes the painting dance in the light and the light reflects through the colored layers. It simply becomes ALIVE with light and color! Please comment, and let me know what you think?
