Pink Slip Studio

Pinkslip Studios speaks to the crossroads in people's lives. The moments we aren't sure which way to go, but need a little encouragement along the way.

With over 13 years as in the world of branding and marketing I've collected a portfolio full of client stories told through visuals. I'm an avid photographer, writer, and artists when I am not hiking through the woods and finding hidden places to explore. Follow me on Twitter at pinkslipstudio

Let me tell you a story. It’s about a woman who learned later in life that she was bursting at the seams with love and creativity and people. One day it all began to make sense to her. In 2019 I realized my creativity would begin to take the form of writing and ministry and people more than painting. Today, four years later I’ve served two churches in the United Methodist Church. my beloved grace-filled expression of faith continues to pour out creatively. And so it is this summer, 2023 that my intentions are to pour my voice back into my chosen creative outlet, mixed media and painting and photography for another adventure. Send prayers, good vibes, high-fives and anything else so this mama of twins can finally get her studio up and going again and into her beautiful life. I am blessed. Every single day.

We spent time pausing and listening tonight. Was a beautiful evening with a cool summer breeze. We will walk again on Monday, August 5th at 7:30pm, 1st Monday. See you on the labyrinth.

Thought for this week: How can you welcome new things or new people in your life? In what ways can you be more welcoming in your spirit? Aware of new opportunities and resist the urge to say, “I’m too busy, I could never do that, or that is out of my comfort zone”. I’m going to practice saying to myself, ”I’m open to whatever crosses my path this week and am willing to say yes, when I might want to say no”. I wonder what wonderful surprises are in store for me and you this week? Be blessed.

Tonight’s walk invoked a sense of warmth and calm to my buzzing mind. My prayers as I held the space for everyone was simple - bless this space, time, and everyone’s walk. I felt blessed and so honored to walk among everyone. Before we knew it, it was time to go home. Until we meet on the labyrinth again.....all the best. (Saturday, May 1st at 1pm Community Walk).

I wasn’t always so confident about who I was, but part of the beauty of getting older is truly loving who I am and how I got here. Make sure to surround yourself with people that love who you truly are, it makes all the difference.

I love watching my son paint. He is thoughtful at times and then has instant joy when he sees something he likes. Makes me smile.

Deep inside you may or may not believe this, but come with me, together let’s truly see how wonderfully and beautifully we were made to be.

My mantra...deep, slow breathe

Pause and say it with me, “I am wonderfully and beautifully made, capable and confident, and trust my decisions and instincts”. Deep breathe out. Now repeat until the words are no longer just words, but the victory mantra for your day today and tomorrow.

Surround yourself with people that aren’t content, but want to invoke change. Tonight I sat amongst them. I am moved to@action, to serve and love in this community. Humbled by their example. Forest Ave Outreach, planting seeds of change. @ Des Moines, Iowa

A funny for your weekend!

Letting it go. It’s time. I can feel it in my bones. I’m imagining how much lighter I will be when my fingertips finally stop hanging on to it. Peace be with you.

As I close my eyes I repeat this over and over...My mind is a powerful tool. When I believe the words I am saying, it sinks deeper into my soul.

Being in nature grounds me so I can hear my spirit clearer. The solitude brings a comforting feeling for my soul that it craves.

My inspiration for the next 60 days.

15/03/2019

As my mind races, I will promise to only pause on the positive, encouraging thoughts. They will take me where I want to go. I invite others to capture their thoughts, releasing any that don’t lift your spirit.

As we approach spring, I’m eager to walk with others outside in local labyrinths. They are meditative, healing and full of transformation. One of the things I do as you walk, is to “hold the space”, so you as the one walking can be led by the Spirit. Eager to meet you where you are.

Returned from my weekend retreat with the Dominican sisters of the mound in Sinsinawa, my annual trip of solitude and renewal. Inbetween the blazing heat (100’s) and the raging storms, we were able to walk our favorite outside labyrinth. 11-circuit with the 6 center petals, representing 6 days of creation. Lots of things released and let go, and an abundance of creativity received. Ahhhh.

These are my mini-maker kits. I created these years ago, inspired to have something for young budding artists and a low price point. Today I was feeling connected with all the younger girls in my booth so I gave to them as gifts and encouraged them to be creative and to find their voice. Michelle Reibsamen Flattery

Thanks to everyone for stopping by my booth today! Some of my favorite pieces went to great homes today. Also loved giving my mini-maker kits to all the budding artists that visited my booth.

Our Story

Life is about evolving, living fully, and embracing your own truth. I spend my time telling people’s stories, along with my own, as an artist and a photographer. I also bring people to local labyrinths to walk, to find healing, to quiet the mind and to reveal your true heart.

“Two roads diverged in a woods, and I chose the one less traveled and that has made all the difference” R.Frost.
