Happy Halloween everyone!! The origin of Halloween is based in Pagan and Celtic mythology Samhain pronounced Sauin was marked by great gatherings and feasts, and was when the ancient burial mounds were open, which were seen as portals to the Otherworld. Some of the literature also associates Samhain with bonfires and sacrifices. It was the celebrating of the beginning of the dark half of the year. So how will you be celebrating the beginning of the darker half of the year? Comment below!! And feel free to share this post!!!

It’s almost time for Halloween 2020 edition! Hope you all are having a great week so far! Today I am bringing up one of things that’s making this Halloween unique and a dash more mythical, The Full Blue Moon. Full Moons on Halloween only occur once ever 19 years so the next one won’t hit until 2039! In folklore, you find mentions of witches practicing their craft under it. Folks howling and transforming into Were-creatures and other creepy things roaming around terrorizing towns. The moon in a spiritual sense is a crescendo and sometimes brings on a reckoning, or a moment of truth. It's associated with illumination since it lights up the dream time landscape. You can always tell when a full moon is coming up because people seem to start acting crazier. Some research shows that hospitals, customer service locations, mental facilities etc all have higher than normal levels of activity supposedly. What are your thoughts about the Halloween full moon and Full moons in general?

Hope all the fellow Myth Geeks had a great week and weekend! Today on Myths and Monsters Monday we shall dive into a curious thing called the Will-o’-the-wisps. Will-o’-the-wisp are phantom lights that hover in the wilderness, luring travelers away from the beaten path. Most of these lights haunt the moors and bogs of England, but they have been reported all over the world, under various names. Will-o’-the-wisps are very simple apparitions. They appear as balls of light, sometimes so bright that they hurt your eyes and other times so dim that you have to squint to see them. They usually have a blue-ish gleam to them, although red has also been reported. In some rare sightings, a dark figure has been seen carrying the light, as if it was a torch or a lantern. Despite carrying a light, the figure is always too dark to be described in detail. A light floating in the darkness might seem innocent, even friendly, but don’t be deceived. These attractive lights are almost always malevolent. They lead travelers onto dangerous land, perhaps a deep hole in a bog or a kingdom ruled by vicious fairies. Have anyone ever seen these light phenomena before? Or heard of these before? Comment below and share!

Hope you all had a awesome time last week! This week for our Monster Monday we are discussing The Hat man. Unlike most Shadow people. The Hat Man is a shadow person, or demon depending on your source, that has been reported all over the world. The entity is usually described as a tall shadow man dressed in a long black trench coat and wearing a wide brimmed hat or a fedora. He is distinctively male and witnesses say that he has no face or a shadowy blurred face. Most shadow entities are usually seen for a moment or two before disappearing, but the Hat Man seems to be different often staying for a prolonged period of time and sometimes he even touches, chokes or assaults his victims. Another aspect of the Hat Man that is eerie and more sinister than other shadow people is that the Hat Man is often associated with hostile environments, aggression and is sometimes an indicator that something evil will happen. Have you ever encountered a shadow person or had a encounter with such a being like the Hat man or if you know someone who has and want to share your story or your thoughts on this mysterious being comment below and like and share the page too! Til next time my fellow Myth Geeks!!!

Hello my fellow Myth Geeks! I am back and am truly sorry for my absence. I have decided that Mondays will be Mythical Creature Monday starting with this fine fellow here. This is a Wraith. No its not a Dementor lol but they are similar.Wraiths are soulless creatures and only feel devastating emotions like hatred and despair. They are a type of ghost, but can also be considered to be a type of demon. Though there are instances that wraiths can be considered ‘good’ (a specific kind of wraith known as a voror), most wraiths are inherently evil.Lore tells us that there are several types of wraiths. The most common kind of wraith has been described above and has an extreme rage that motivates its actions. Some variations of this first type of wraith are incredibly intelligent and capable of holding grudges into their undead state. They will target an individual that they perceive has wronged them until they have captured their soul and can force them to wander outside of the spirit world for eternity. How many of you have heard of these creatures in your stories or lore that you have read care to discuss leave a comment below! Til next time!

Good evening! Hopefully you and your family are enjoying a great night of Halloween! For a final post about Halloween. I would like talk about Halloween itself! The origin of it is based in a Pagan holiday celebrating the end of harvest and the beginning of the dark half of the year. Supposedly it also is the time where the veil between our world and the Spirit realm is thinner. https://www.cvltnation.com/thinning-veil-samhain-pagan-roots-halloween/
