Benefits of Healthy Habits
Longevity Improvement 🤓
When you practice healthy habits, you boost your chances of a longer life. Those who walked just 30 minutes each day significantly reduced their chances of dying prematurely, compared with those who exercised infrequently. Looking forward to more time with loved ones is reason enough to keep walking. Start with short five-minute walks and gradually increase the time until you’re up to 30 minutes.👍

Burpees 🥺
Burpees are one of the best full-body functional exercises you can do. It’s just lying down on the ground and getting back up again.
If you can’t jump backward into a high plank from a squat position, don’t be discouraged; just step back instead, one leg at a time. Then lie down. Then push yourself back up, step those legs back into your hands, and stand fully upright.
If you practice this consistently, you’ll be jumping up and down in no time and the rewards you’ll reap for your overall health and wellness will be incalculable. 👍
Lessons the corporate world teaches about success
Your value depends on the problems you can solve
In the corporate world, those who often get promoted are not the ones who work hard, but those who have shown great ability to solve problems and handle issues that arise in the company.
You may not see your supervisor or manager physically working all the time, but they earn more than you because they are efficient at avoiding, handling, and fixing problems.
And that’s why whenever you’re putting up a business or deciding if you want to pursue a project, the first thing you ask is what problem will it solve for the customer. When you become a solutions provider, the money will follow.
Ways to be Kinder to Yourself
Taking more time for yourself
Choosing to spend time alone can benefit your social relationships, improve your creativity and confidence, and help you regulate your emotions so that you can better deal with adverse situations. It’s not that solitude is always good, but it can be good, if you’re open to rejecting the idea, common in the west, that time by yourself is always a negative experience you’re being forced into.
Solitude helps us regulate our emotions, it can have a calming effect that prepares us to better engage with others. Getting better at identifying moments when we need solitude to recharge and reflect can help us better handle negative emotions and experiences, like stress and burnout. 👍

Taking time to do nothing at all
Running from place to place and laboring over long to-do lists have increasingly become ways to communicate the status of ‘I’m so busy because I’m just so important’, the thinking goes. Perhaps it’s time to stop all this busyness.
Being busy, if we even are busy, is rarely the status indicator we’ve come to believe it is. Nonetheless, the impact is real, and instances of burnout, anxiety disorders and stress-related diseases are on the rise, not to mention millennial burnout.
One way out of this madness is doing nothing. Counter-intuitively, idleness can be a great productivity tool because if our energy is totally shot, our productivity is not going to be good because we’re not going to have fuel to burn with which to be productive. 👍

Cultivating more casual, low-staking friendships
Think of the parents you see in the drop-off line at school, your favorite bartender, the other dog owners at the park. These are called low-stakes relationships, i.e., weak ties. Not only can these connections affect our job prospects, they also can have a positive impact on our well-being by helping us feel more connected to other social groups.
Weak ties can offer recommendations for services and empower us to be more empathetic. We’re likely to feel less lonely, too. The more weak ties a person has, e.g., neighbors, a barista at the neighborhood coffee shop or fellow members in a spin class, the happier they feel. Maintaining this network of acquaintances also contributes to one’s sense of belonging to a community. 👍
Ways to be Kinder to Yourself
Accepting a Compliment, even if it’s from yourself!
Pumping yourself up after a big win can feel a little awkward. You want to acknowledge good work, but you don’t want to feel arrogant. It’s that tricky balance of quietly reveling in a job well done without coming off as a jerk.
Despite that awkwardness, getting credit for your work gives your brain good feelings and helps you accomplish more. Companies use praise to try to boost productivity and even revenue, and the psychological impact of keeping a positive view of your accomplishments can decrease stress and encourage better habits.👍
Even if you’re bad at taking a compliment, or you’re not getting external recognition, you can still enjoy major psychological benefits from celebrating your achievements on your own.
Ways to be Kinder to Yourself
Enjoying things when they’re good.
Worrying about when “the other shoe will drop” will only steal your current joy. Students who predict getting a poor grade on an exam felt bad for days before receiving their results. Worse, their stressing didn’t diminish the disappointment they felt once they got their scores.
One underlying reason people worry is that on some level they assume it helps. Yet we need to accept that we can’t perfectly prepare for potential challenges. There are an infinite number of bad things that could possibly happen, although most are unlikely, and there is just no way a person can anticipate them all.
Keep in mind that we are notoriously bad at predicting how we will feel in a given situation, and things often go better than we imagine they will in moments of fear. People find they worry about everything bad that could possibly happen so that they won’t be taken off guard. What really bothers them is that although they do sometimes experience bad things, they are never the ones they thought about. 👉
This Caramel Apple Pecan Streusel Pie tastes as good as it looks! This pie is loaded with apples, topped with a crunchy peach streusel, and drizzled with homemade caramel sauce. It’s too good to stop at one slice! 🥧
I have a growing archive of apple desserts. One of my favorites is these apple streusel bars! I think it's safe to say, I really enjoy this fall fruit. 🍎
And while you can get apples all year round, they simply taste the best when they're in season. 😍
The Wasabi plant grows naturally along stream beds in mountain river valleys in Japan. 🏔
The oldest record of wasabi as a food dates to the 8th century AD.
The popularity of wasabi in English-speaking countries has coincided with that of sushi, growing steadily starting in about 1980.😋
Due to issues that limit the Japanese wasabi plant's mass cultivation and thus increase its price and decreased availability outside Japan.
The western horseradish plant is generally used in place of the Japanese horseradish. This version is commonly referred to as "western wasabi" in Japan.👏
I put garlic in every single dish I make.🧄
One of my top favorite foods is garlic bread! Basically what I am saying is that anything mixed with garlic will taste amazing. 👍
But let's not forget the benefits that garlic comes with also. They are packed with nutrients! 😍
Dates might look like humble fruits, but they are packed with nutrition and have a lot of health benefits. 👍
Additionally, they are high in fiber 😁 which is good in clearing the intestinal tract.
So, they clearly qualify to be called a superfood!
Perilla, also called shiso... is an herb from the mint 🌿 family.
Red perilla has an anise-like flavor, while green perilla tastes more like cinnamon. 😋
In Japan, green perilla is used in sushi, soups, and tempura, or added to rice. In Korea, a larger variety is marinated and used as a wrap for barbecue or eaten raw in 🥗 salads.
Plant the seeds in spring and allow about 70 days to harvest.
Some studies show that taking collagen 🐃 for several months can improve skin elasticity as well as signs of aging. 🥰
Others have shown that consuming collagen can increase density in bones weakened with age and can improve joint, back and knee pain.👍
Ayurvedic herbs are herbs that have been used in Ayurvedic lineage for 5,000-plus years and grow in India and surrounding areas... 🤭
Ayurveda can return us to balance, health, and vital well-being. 👍👍
Green tea 🌱 is one of the most commonly consumed teas in the world.
Green tea extract is its concentrated form, with just one capsule containing the same amount of active ingredients as an average cup of green tea. 🤭
Like green tea, green tea extract is a great source of antioxidants.
These have been credited with a range of health benefits, from promoting heart, liver and brain health to improving your skin! 👏
Ever put kale 🌿 inside your smoothies or even baked them in the oven?
They are amazing no matter what you do and let's not forget the much need vitamins they provide to us on a daily basis! 🥰
No this is not just any butter. This is clarified butter 🍼 called Ghee!
They basically have the dairy 🐄 aspect extracted out by cooking it until they spread apart.
Ghee is much healthier than butter and is perfect for those who are lactose intolerant. 😍
Ever seen a garlic scrape? 🤔 My supermarket downstairs has recently started selling these little garlic looking 🧄 stems.
They are amazing with saucy based foods as they give off great taste! 😍
My smoothie game is back! 👍 This morning I made a berry 🍓acai smoothie for my husband and I and it tastes wonderful! 🥰
Summer is here 🌞 and melons are in season! I personally 😍love honeydews the most but if I'd have to choose my second favorite... It would be watermelons 🍉!
I have recently found a healthier alternative then regular flour called tapioca flour and it's gluten free also! 🤞Baked some amazing chewy breads. 🥰
Acai berry 🍇 smoothie is the best thing I can have in the morning after waking up! Yumms... 🥰
