Person Will （人） • 将 is a Dunedin creative, musician, producer and professional wildcard who will take care of the visuals for JAZZ LOFT, with a curated reel of projections on the theme of 'meditations on water'. Personn has a background in design and visual art, runs From the Place productions (https://m.youtube.com/ ) and plays bass, keys and recorder in Exp.J (Expensive Jazz) alongside his main creative gig as "Personn Will", Dunedin's post-funk alt-punk swing-rap song-slinger. Here we see him in his most demure role yet…

Person Will IS Ōtepoti’s singularly unique and totally unapologetic swing-rap personality. Ranging from the alt-punk to the positively post-funk, PERSON WILL’s high value, high energy performance will bring the very best of bass driven vintage electronica with that hip-hop edge. Come witness him merge this s**z and alter your perspective!

I especially enjoy the flexibility of his vocal delivery, an ability to flow from the strait dope to explode viciously then expand seamlessly into the truly theatrical. Check out his track 'Podium' performed live at Lobo After Fest to get that real Person Will flavour.

A huge thank you to the Nook & Cranny Music Festival team for making Nook and Cranny 5.0 happen, and so brilliantly. It was a fantastic day of quality music performances throughout the day yesterday, and was still going at midnight! Particular thanks to the technical guru behind it, Personn Wil, who did an amazing job keeping the livestream solid and managing the various platforms hosting the stream. Thanks too, to Brendan Christie for putting the fabulous programme together to bring such a great range of musical styles. And of course to the dozens of musicians who contributed music to this Festival - a huge and challenging feat technically. As always, our local musicians came to the party to bring you free music for NZ Music Month - and what a party it was!

INTER-REGION-WIDE TOUR

The wonderful Personn Wil, hailing from Dunedin, DJ MC extraordinaire channeling your very thoughts live. We are so pleased this highly attuned man agreed to play our festival. He is just soo original and brilliant!

We first spotted him at Feastock 2019, then asked him up to our wee Pigeon Bay dance party in Fiona Grace Nicol backyard and we had a blast under the full moon. We’re hoping Bee Bogan will jump on for a song or two also!

We are super-stoked to have SOAKED OATS playing at the festival!
ARTIST PROFILE: Soaked Oats are a young four-piece band that percolated into existence in Dunedin, New Zealand in 2017.
Catapulted by their infectious and joyful shows and fast-evolving songwriting chops, the band's profile and fanbase on a steep rise.
2019 saw the release of their most accomplished work to date, The Sludge Pop EP. The band's single 'Coming Up' was discovered by indie-rock icon Sharon Van Etten who shared to her 90 thousand plus fans. Sell-out shows across NZ and Australia throughout 2019 have the band excited for what is to come as they begin work on their debut album proper.
The band is made up of lead vocalist Oscar Mein who scribes the smart, witty and thoughtful observations on life. And fruit. Guitarist, Henry Francis and his amazing pedal-board are on the noble path to tone mastery making the instrument sound like it was made by unicorns. Rhythm section Max Holmes (bass) and Conor Feehly (drums) provide the backbone, the funk and keep the party going.
