If anybody is using online quickbooks. DO NOT EVER CHOOSE OUT OF SCOPE for your tax if it is zero rated,,, as some are. Revenue Canada does not recognize such a term. And if you use that term it will not drop into your HST Summary report! Apparently there is no accounting software that is certified by the govt and it is all use at your own risk,,,,,, so beware and make sure you have somebody who knows what they are doing on your books! I just got off the phone with the ruling department. The excise tax act does not recognize the term "out of scope" that is used by quickbooks online. If audited it does not provide an excuse.
