Our research team was developing a drone application for this gripper designed at the Dynamic Adaptive Robotics Technologies (DART) Lab at Georgia Tech.
The goal was to develop a proof-of-concept of a drone that uses this gripper to perch to a structure autonomously. This could be used for autonomous recharging the drone in recharge stations spread around a city, increasing significantly the range of the UAV.
