Throwback to when I first became a mom almost 5 years ago. My family came to the hospital right away to meet the baby! Here’s a couple of my brothers and my mom meeting the first grand baby in the fam🖤So fun looking at old pictures. Now that I’m almost due with my 3rd child, I’ll definitely miss having my parents and brothers come to the hospital… but times are different, a lot has changed in the world, and it will be fun to pull up to the driveway and have my family meet the baby at our home 🖤 Are you a mama who gave birth during the pandemic? My favorite part of the pre-Oscar’s event was getting to talk to Viola Davis and her daughter again. Viola is such an inspiring mother and always keeps it real. She has publicly spoken and shared about the beauty and challenges of motherhood and always speaks the truth.

When we were talking they both looked me right in the eyes the entire time and listened. They are so kind, respectful, genuine, and grateful. I was excited to see what Viola would pick this year and she went with our new pearl and gold necklace & labradorite bracelet (not yet released).

Her daughter also picked out a fun rainbow charm for her rainbow moonstone bracelet.

My favorite part was when Genesis read the affirmation card that was on my table (that I give to every mother who purchases a piece) and she turned to Viola handed it to her and said, “Here Mom I got this for you!” We all laughed. But that right there is how you know you’ve done a good job raising your baby when she see’s a card and picks it up because she wants you to know you are “Strong, beautiful, enough and tough as a mother.”

Although Viola Davis is well known for her exceptional roles as an actress, her realness, values, and how she openly speaks about the joyous and difficult parts of motherhood are truly inspirational.

Thank you for making everyone you spoke to at the suite feel important and valued, you are the epitome of class as a woman and mother.

February is international prenatal infection prevention month.

Here’s 3 tips for preggo mamas. Tag a pregnant mama⬇️

1)Wash your hands with soap and water after the following:
Using the bathroom
Touching raw meat, raw eggs, or unwashed vegetables
Preparing food and eating
Gardening or touching dirt or soil
Handling pets
Being around people who are sick
Getting saliva (spit) on your hands
Caring for and playing with children
Changing diapers
Learn more about washing your hands.

2)Reduce contact with saliva and urine from babies and young children
A common virus called cytomegalovirus (CMV) can cause problems for some babies, including microcephaly and hearing loss. A woman who is infected with CMV can pass the virus to her developing baby during pregnancy. Women may be able to lessen their risk of getting CMV by reducing contact with saliva and urine from babies and young children. Some ways to do this are by not sharing food and utensils with babies and young children, and washing hands after changing diapers. These actions can’t eliminate your risk of getting CMV, but may lessen your chances of getting it.

2)Avoid unpasteurized (raw) milk and foods made from it.
Do not eat soft cheeses, such as feta, brie, and queso fresco, unless they have labels that say they are pasteurized. Unpasteurized products can contain harmful bacteria. Learn more about Listeria.
