THIS IS FOR EVERY SOLDIER.
A private soldier is digging a trench. Endex is called and he didn't hear it so the platoon leave and head back to barracks. He's not missed.
Next morning at muster hes absent. The platoon Sgt tells his section commander to go to the training area and see if he's there. Anyway the section commander arrives and the soldier is in a deep hole digging. What are you doing private? I'm trying to dig my way out he replies but it just keeps getting deeper. Keep digging hes told.
The next day his platoon Sgt goes past. What you doing private? Trying to dig my way out of this hole Sarge but it just keeps getting deeper. Keep digging you will get there.
The next day his platoon Commander walks past. What you doing Private? Trying to dig myself out of this hole Sir but it keeps getting deeper. Keep digging private, you will get there.
The next day his comrade jumps in the hole. What are you doing? I've been trying to dig myself out of this hole for days and I just keep getting deeper. What are you thinking jumping in? Well on your own you will never get out of here but with me beside you we can both get out of this hole.
PTSD. You cannot beat it alone.
You cannot hide the fact you have it.
Together we can beat it.
Do not dig alone you will just get deeper. Together we can get out as a team. Once a brother in arms always a brother in arms.
We leave no man behind.
Any soldier ex or still serving is not a stranger just a friend we haven’t met yet..

The Poppy Team are hoping to be at local events throughout 2018 to remember 100 years since the end of the First World War.
I will be going to this meeting and will post future dates so anyone from the team can come along. A while ago I muted the possibility of having a Remembrance 2018 planning meeting to look at how we might commemorate 100 years since the end of World War 1 in our communities. lots of people, including the local schools expressed an interest. I have therefore set a date for a meeting on Tuesday 27th February 7:45pm at Lucy Street Methodist Church. All welcome.
This year is a 100 years since the end of WW1 we will remember them.
We have the first total in from this years Poppy Appeal and its looks like it's going to another record year thanks to everyone for there support.
The total so far stands at £47,958.54
