I had the honor once more to be featured in Mr. Tadashi Hayakawa‘s book. (Along with other great artists). He’s a great artist, located in Colorado, I adore him and his work. Unfortunately he‘s currently very sick and this might have been his last book.

Frida!!
Frida Kahlo de Rivera schuf Werke, die tief in ihre inneren Kämpfe, Schmerzen und Freuden eintauchen. Nach schweren Verletzungen bei einem Busunfall mit 18 Jahren, die zu lebenslangen körperlichen Beeinträchtigungen führten, musste die junge Mexikanerin ihr Medizinstudium abbrechen und begann zunächst im Bett mit dem Malen. Von ihren 143 Bildern sind 55 Selbstportraits, welche maßgeblich zu ihrer Bekanntheit und ihrem künstlerischen Vermächtnis beitrugen.
Spätestens nach der Hollywood-Verfilmung ihres bewegten Lebens mit Salma Hayek in der Hauptrolle wurde Kahlo auch hierzulande einem breiten Publikum bekannt.
Im Alter von 47 Jahren starb Frida Kahlo in Coyoacán, einem Vorort von Mexiko-Stadt, wo sie am heutigen Tag vor 116 Jahren geboren wurde. Bis heute wird die Künstlerin weltweit als Stil-Ikone verehrt.

Ich liebe es Bilder meiner Bilder im Freien zu fotografieren. Nicht nur ist das Sonnenlicht der beste Filter, ich mag auch den blauen Himmel und das saftige Grün im Hintergrund. Was meint ihr?

Manchmal werde ich gefragt, wo all meine Inspiration für meine Kunst herkommt.
Heute werde ich es euch verraten: Hauptsächlich natürlich aus der Natur, denn es gibt nichts Schöneres, als die unberührte Natur. Ich genieße lange Spaziergänge und habe ein gutes Auge für Details, was anderen nie auffallen würde. Ich zoome mit meiner Kamera rein und halte all diese kleinen Details fotografisch fest. Es sind Formen, Linien, Farben, Textur und Struktur, die mich faszinieren.
Aber auch bunte Häuser in Südafrika, in der Karibik oder bunte Trachten und Karnivals in Südamerika steuern viel zu meiner Inspiration hinzu.

Sometimes I get asked where all my inspiration for my art comes from.
Today I will tell you: Mainly from nature, of course, because there is nothing more beautiful than untouched nature. I enjoy long walks and have a good eye for details, which others would never notice. I zoom in with my camera and capture all these little details photographically. It's shapes, lines, colors, texture and structure that fascinate me.
But also colorful houses in South Africa, in the Caribbean or colorful costumes and carnivals in South America contribute a lot to my inspiration.

Creating Art, and Why!
Hi and Welcome to my page.
I’m a self-taught artist who was born and raised in Germany and moved with her husband to the US in 2008. I’m a mother of a 6yo girl and am known for having a big heart for animals.
We just recently moved to Parker, Colorado and we love it here!
I started painting and drawing during my teenage years mostly to battle anxiety issues. After years of a creative drought, I began creating again just 3-4 years ago by refinishing and hand painting furniture, and especially old doors. Whenever the garage became too cold though to work on my bigger stuff, I started painting abstracts on canvas indoors as well as alcohol inks on paper and canvas. I love creating bold & never boring pieces of art and it feels like I can finally express myself. My work is colorful and often unexpected, inspired by beloved art, nature, books and everything beautiful the world has to offer. I feel blessed and fortunate that I found my long-lost love and passion for art.
