We were discussing how so often we get stuck in our heads thinking something needs to be perfect, we never actually get started in the first place. We would rather not try something then risk not doing it perfectly, which now that I know better is CRAZY for me to think about.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I am so often reminded that we only get one shot at life, and each passing day of no progress was opportunity missed.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This was especially true when starting my business. For four years, yes FOUR years, I was stuck in what I call the "research/learning" phase which I now know was just a nice way of saying the "to scared to start" phase. I often think about how much progress I would have made in those four years had I just friggen STARTED!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Once I actually decided enough was enough, and stopped getting hung up on what my brand colors were, or what my logo was, and actually just started looking for clients and work, that is when my business flourished.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

So today, I ask you: What is holding you back from moving forward? Is it fear? Is it the thought of messing up? Is it not being perfectly ready?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

When I was younger, I always felt in competition with the women around me. I felt jealous when they accomplished something I hadn’t.

As I’ve grown older, I recognize that jealousy only breaks down the progress the women before us worked so hard to achieve.

The theme for this year’s is . I’ve chosen to make my commitment for the following year to celebrate women’s achievements around me, and lift them up in their journey of creating change.

What can you do to help forge a more gender-balanced world? Celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness against bias, and take action for equality.

Recently I have had a TON of questions about how to edit photos for social media.

I'm working on putting a video together to show you, but I wanted to know, do you edit your photos?

I'm not talking about photoshopping your appearance, but rather enhancing color and brightness, etc. What do you use? Do you think this tutorial will be helpful?

Okay I am a day late, but I was busy spending time with family yesterday!

I hope you all had a safe and fabulous new years. I know a lot of you are probably busy making plans and goals for the new year, and I LOVE that! I was recently watching a Facebook Live my friend Carly Pryor Wilson did on goal setting and it was AWESOME. I think it is soooo easy for us to automatically have a long list of goals or resolutions (eek I cringe at that word!) that we want to accomplish, but not so easy to focus and prioritize to actually make them work.

She suggests having one MAJOR goal and just focusing on that. I used to be a self proclaimed multi-tasker and really wore that title as a badge of honor. I am now learning that we physically cannot multi-task, instead we just switch from one task to another quickly. This interrupts our focus and actually doesn't help us get things done any faster.

So this year I am working on setting one goal and hoping the rest falls into place!

I also like choosing a "word of the year", and I am still deciding on mine.
