I've been feeling super sick all week - a cold has kept me from a lot.

But I was not going to let that sore throat + congestion + runny nose stop me from skiing on a powder day!

"Joy is the essence of success."

Coming down with a sickness is never fun, but having tea tags to inspire you at 7 in the morning? Can't beat it.

This quote + this mug made me think of success.

I don't measure success in dollar signs or in promotions. I don't measure success by being better than others. I don't measure success in items, things I can collect.

Success, to me, is helping others who need it. Success is giving someone something I've wanted or needed in the past to help me grow. Success is doing everything in my power for people to live fully. Success is reaching goals - eating well, pushing through excuses, getting better at something I love to do, saying "thank you" more, and inspiring others to do the same. THIS brings me joy.

What does success mean for you? ❀️

3 TIPS for to trick your brain into healthy eating:

1️⃣. Try out a smaller plate!
- Whenever I'm dishing up my plate, whether it's gigantic or teeny, I always want to fill it with whatever I cook. Try out a salad plate for dinner instead of a regular dinner plate - you'll be surprised at how full you'll feel. And there's always the option for seconds if you aren't! :)

2️⃣. Dish up your veggies first, carbs last.
- If you fill your plate up with the good stuff first, you won't have as much room for potatoes, bread, or other carbs. By putting the healthy foods on there first, you'll most likely get full from broccoli instead of bread.

3️⃣. Substitute!
- I typically swap out mayo for avocado or Greek yogurt in my tuna. The same goes with hummus on my sandwiches and salads. It's an easy, flavorful swap that doesn't make you feel like you're missing out on those extra calories!

BONUS TIP: Drink lots of water!! Jazz it up with fruit or drink some tea to mix things up. ☺️

Cozy day off today!

I was planning on skiing, but some of the lifts are closed due to high winds. For some reason, that really deterred me from going.

Instead, I decided to get in a good workout (Total Body Chisel + 10 Min Abs - WHEW!), drink my shake, and relax with a beanie and a braid. :)

The holidays are OVER. I do LOVE Christmas and ringing in the New Year, but dang! It can be tough to feel totally on track sometimes. {{ }}

So. After reading this quote, I wrote out my list of priorities for this month & this year.

Biggest priority?? Helping others believe in themselves again through a healthy lifestyle change. 😍

Today, I want all of you to remember this. Why?

Maybe you have a loving + supportive family that you can't wait to spend time with over the holidays. Remember to have the strength + energy to be constantly surrounded by loved ones {shootout to my introverts!}.

Maybe your family isn't supportive and tears you down at Christmas. It's a very real thing for a lot of us. Keep strong in who you are. You'll make it through.

Maybe you're stuck at the airport, wishing you could be anywhere other than these bustling rooms filled with faux leather chairs + hurried people. Your flight will come. And if it doesn't, you'll find a way to make this Christmas wonderful.

Maybe you're home alone, no family or friends who have plans with you. I've been there too. Remember that you are enough to make this holiday beautiful. Look around at the snow or the sky or the tree in your living room. Pull up a video of a cozy log fireplace. Sing carols at the top of your lungs.

Regardless of your Christmas plans, I hope you all know that you are absolutely able to handle whatever the world may throw at you because you have everything you need within you. ❀️

My heart leaps with joy at discovering the number of people who say "we want to make a better world".
