Isn’t this a riot? 🤣😂🤣😂
Just a couple of touchups and I’m finished! I love the blues and this is a tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan, one of the all-time greats!
Blues, plums, teals, handpainted collage papers, some of his sheet music and even some bits of silver leaf. It’s textured, layered, and chaotic...brought together with an overall light blue glaze. I chose to let some bits soar off the edge...as he did.
Please feel free to comment and share. Thanks so much!
I need to practice Social Distancing...from the refrigerator!
She's amazing! How would you like to find her in your yard? I'd be visiting her everyday! 😍😍
Woman Finds Beautiful Flower Mantis Living In Her Garden "When I saw her, I thought she was an exquisite work of art."
This is phenomenal! I loved seeing the process near the end. Wow!
Don't you think this is just amazing?
Here’s my biggest fan, Niko the Wonder dog! LOL! Who’s yours?
So true.
Don't you think this is cool?
Don't you think this is a great idea?
Decorate an Outdoor Christmas Tree With Edible Ornaments for Wildlife Save a tree and some animals by taking the Christmas tree tradition outdoors.
A few posts back I showed a piece I started working on, and it was in the “play stage.l”.Really crazy reds and some turquoise and blues thrown in there. I love the play stage! Anyway, after covering up a lot of “play“, I now need to see where it takes me. This is for an upcoming exhibition, themed “Red”. I’ve decided to take just one red, and pull it in different directions, and see where it goes… These are the first layers. Even though I have a broad sense of where I would like this to go, it doesn’t mean that’s where it will end up. And that’s wonderful! It’s all about the journey…
I think I want to end up with the original red on top, but who knows… What do you think? -Deborah. P.S. I do like pink… It just depends…
Hahahahaha! This is a spoof at the Tampa Police Department! (If you don't understand, scroll down to see the banana art post. The banana that sold for $120,000!)
Florida Police Department Asks $200K for Donut Taped to Wall
Do you think it could get any crazier? Here's the followup to yesterday's post. Wouldn't you love to see this happen? I think I would be choking with laughter...wouldn't you?
Performance artist eats banana duct-taped to wall that sold for $120,000 Two of the three editions have been sold and last one is expected to go for $150,000.
Have you seen this? What do you think? Art? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Banana art piece fetches staggering amount of money at Miami’s Art Basel The Maurizio Cattelan art piece -- a banana duct-taped to a wall -- sold for $120,000.
Does anyone (locally) have magazines to donate for an art project?
I don’t usually show this...it’s the beginning, the “play” stage. Anything goes! I love this stage! You’re at the beginning of a journey and you don’t know where it will go. Maybe I’ll use some of those reds I was working on… We’ll see where the journey takes me. Vulnerable…
This is just beyond words...what love...

Woohoo! Here’s a partial peek of work hanging at Deja Brew. I was invited back as their featured artist for the next two months. I’ve got 14 pieces in this exhibit, ranging from minis to 24” x 48”. The ketchup kinda ties this grouping together! LOL! I love this place...eclectic & fun! Thanks Cecyle!
Working on a color palette for an upcoming show. I’m only using one shade of red plus black and white. Infinite possibilities… We’ll see where it goes!

When you’re the last cat built for the day… And there are no matching parts! LOL!
I thought it might be fun for you to see the progression of a piece. I start out with mark making, which is the play stage...ANYTHING goes! Then I move on to explore, which in this case was a lot of frustration, painting over, blotting out, getting rid of, and trying to figure out where to go from there… Ultimately you have the final piece, which you can see is NOTHING like the steps to get there. Love the journey… kind of crazy. (Beyond thanks to Pamela Caughey for her inspiration & knowledge!)
The first two are closeups, and the third is the full piece.
“Connected”, 12x12” Mixed Media. Warm colors, some metallics and a piece of hammered copper in the bottom right. Yum....😊
Five closeups, then the full piece. Out of Africa, 30” x 30”. This includes some of the collage papers I’ve been working on. Getting ready for my one woman show… I think I like it, so it will probably make the “cut” for the show. Hmmm...thoughts?
I love Lauren Kistner’s work! I recently bought this little “pocket painting”. You can visit her on FB and Instagram. ❤️
I haven’t done a video before, but this was so much fun I just had to share it! I’m not sure yet how I’m going to use it, but it will show up sooner than later. I hope you like it too!
Niko, “The Wonder Dog”, said he wanted to be a ghost! 👻🎃😂. Yeah, kind of a FAIL! LOL!
Here's one of the "mini" pieces that found a new home at the Life's Kitchen event! A lot of time spent with hand-painted collage paper, painting, cutting the odd-angle, painting the edges, handmade stamp and then the backside! A lot of time...but so much fun!
What a wonderful idea! 😍

What a wonderful time last night at the Life’s Kitchen annual gala fundraiser. So happy my piece found a nice home during the silent auction and lots of funds were raised for this terrific group of people.
Tomorrow night is the annual fundraiser for Life’s Kitchen. In addition to the piece I’ve donated, I’m making “mini-art” pieces/magnets as giveaways. Abstract shapes, bits of hand-stamped copper, shells, metallics collage papers, etc. lots of layers & texture! This has been so much fun! Enjoy! 😁
Brilliant blue, brilliant yellow...brilliantly beautiful day!
Making more collage papers tonight. This is an imprint from the bottom of a pair of my sandals! Who knew? 😂
