Thank you, Dr. Tachaka Hollins, for representing WHET as the ACE State Chair at the ACE Women's Network Leadership Conference in San Diego, CA. This year's conference theme was "Casting the Net to Strengthen Our Network: Cultivating Strong Coaching, Mentoring, and Sponsoring Skills." Some topics discussed at this year's conference were the future of higher education, building allyship, federal policies and potential impact on higher education, retirement inequality, and issues impacting women in higher education.

Dr. Hollins had the distinct pleasure to connect with other women leaders and share the great things happening in WHET. To name a few:
Thasunda Brown Duckett, President and CEO of TIAA- ACE Women's Leadership Dinner Keynote Speaker
Gloria Thomas, President of Higher Education Resource Services (HERS)- 2022 ACE State Network Leadership Award recipient
Donna Shavlik, Longtime Activist and Advocate for Women in Higher Education- ACE Award in Her Name

Dr. Hollins had to opportunity to engage in topics related to "Moving the Needle." These efforts were originally adopted by the ACE Women's Network in 2014. This initiative seeks parity for women holding and aspiring to hold leadership positions in higher education institutions with the mutual benefit of advancing demographically diverse women to senior-level leadership positions.

Dr. Hollins was inspired by other practices of her colleagues throughout the nation and will help WHET align some of those promising practices with WHET's initiatives.

My title is rented, but my character is forever - Thasunda Duckett
