Hello everyone! if you have a few minuets, please read this to get to know me and my intention of running for student representatives.

My name is Yicun Liu. At campus, I go with the name "Chloe" which might sound more familiar to you. I am writing you this post in the hope that you will get to know me better as a person, as a student rep candidate, and hopefully as your potential friend.

I come from China where campaigns of all kinds are non-existent. And that is why at the beginning, it took me a lot of courage to decide running for the student rep. I don't know anything about winning votes, doing campaign events or even putting my most humble ideas into a "fancy political slogan". How could I stand a chance? And more importantly how could I be qualified? But then it hit me that being inexperienced in campaign is not a disadvantage and definitely not a reason for me to stay back. Rather it means that I will campaign with all my true passion, true beliefs and true love. And I believe that being a good student rep doesn't require me to be an excellent "politician", giving empty promises and extravagant communication. A student rep is here to look, listen and react - always look around to see if there could be any potential improvement ; always listen carefully to everyone's suggestion ; always react efficiently in the most genuine manner.

I will be the most honest and sincerest and that is all that I can offer. My biggest promise to you is that I will put in as much time and energy as I can to be the openest and most available student rep you will see.

With that being said, here are some of the main areas that I wish to work on. The list is absolutely open as I believe it is not me who decides what to do and how to do it. I sincerely want to hear from all of you - What is your concern? What you find difficult? How would you want it to be different?

- Academically, For the 3A abroad, there are so many questions remained unsettled. How are we going to be evaluated? How is GPA going to be calculated officially? The grades during which time period will be included? Why the IELTS test taken place in Paris can't be refunded entirely? Can we be given more information on current 3As about what their grades were, where they eventually went , how they are doing right now? What about applying for dual degrees? Other issues could be : civic engagement program, exam dates, biased treatment in class, measures of attendance, library opening hours, studying room usage, online recording for lectures ...

- Living aspects : FOOD: Can we bring more diversity into the cafeteria food? Can we have more options for snacks instead of just sugary processed food in vending machines? Can there be written description of the food for us to make more informed decisions and save the time for asking? Is there a better way to deal with unsold food instead of just giving them away randomly? Other issues could be : medical service, mental support sessions, more entertaining facilities on campus, better usage of classrooms (for example, using the classroom as self-study rooms when there is no class especially during exam periods) …

I can't write down everything I have in mind. There is so much. But if you wish to heard more and talk more ,you are more than welcome to come to me whether in person or via messenger (my facebook name is Chloe Liu). I will be in the student hallway all mornings starting Tuesday till Thursday. And there will be snacks provided. If you are willing to take a few mins to get to know me, you will
find me more than friendly and sincere. I find putting my time and energy into such cause is one of the most meaningful and rewarding ways i can think of. All I hope from you is your opinions, your trust. If you let me help you, i will not stop until there is nothing more for me to be done.
