A note from our committee head, Jan Merkely from JEM Events: SO looking forward to the Barrington Community Showcase tomorrow from 12 - 5 at the Barrington Middle School. LOTS of fun stuff to see! 80 exhibitors, a great silent auction - think about holiday shopping!, live entertainment with Joy of Dance, Dance n Motion, Quest Martial Arts, and the Barrington School Band, the Granite State Zoo with exotic animals, and don't forget about the fabulous food competition - featuring Dantes, Sunny's Restaurant, Hutchs Pub & Grill, Stonehouse Baking Co., Kozy's Pizza, and Sweet Olive's Bakery. And of course, someone will win an LED HD TV! FREE Attendance! If you're free, come on out and see all the local businesses and all they have to offer!

Lots of great things discussed at the meeting tonite....silent auction items are rolling in very quickly but we are always looking for more...we have nearly 65 exhibitors registered and awaiting a few more confirmations...

Sponsors this year include: Barrington Family Eyecare, the Generator Connection, Dr. Paul Pasternack, Cornerstone VNA, the Barrington School District, Audio Events, Sterling Solution, Home Depot, Wedgewood Design & Graphics, and Walmart.

For this year's entertainment we have: Joy of Dance, Quest Martial Arts, and the Barrington School Band!

For our food competition this year, we have: Dantes, Hutch's Pub & Grille, Kozy's Pizza, Sweet Olive Bakery, and Sunny's Restaurant.

We are excited to announce that the W.I.L.D. Center (formerly Granite State Zoo), Barrington Middle School Band and Quest Marital Arts will be providing us with entertainment at this year's Expo! Stay tuned for more exciting news to be posted as the committee works on fun things for the Expo!

A follow up note from the Head of the Expo, Jan Merkley: The Barrington Expo Committee met yesterday for the first time. We have a new team looking forward to getting this great community event together and ALL PROCEEDS are going to the Barrington Middle School! Please help us spread the word and like our page! You'll see important updates as we meet. The date for the Expo is September 21st at the Barrington Middle School! The site will be up for registration next month!

The Barrington Community Expo volunteers met yesterday. We have some great new ideas that are coming in from our new team! This year's Expo will be much different from ones in the past. Be sure to like and share our page as details will be posted as we finalize them!

We have a great 42" HD-LCD Smart TV to give away! And don't forget - if you bring a non-perishable item for the food pantry, you will get an EXTRA raffle ticket for the TV!

We have decided to do an Iron Chef Barrington theme this year. Each restaurant that participates at the expo had to select sweet, savory or both! The primary ingredient that was chosen by the committee was cranberries! We are working on finalizing the confirmation of restaurants so stay tuned for those updates.

The committe met last nite and we have some great restaurants and fun entertainment lined up for this years expo. The schedule is as follows for your planning needs:

Greeting members and non-members: We have our expo coming up September 29th and the committee is looking for volunteers that are needed immediately to help with silent auction, registration, also looking for sponsorships, etc.

Good meeting last nite for the committee. We are making great progress on sponsorships. We have finalized our one ingredient that restaurants for the food competition can use for the sweet and savory dishes. It will be cranberries! Stay tuned for more details to be posted.

Each year the GBCC Community Expo selects a local recipient to receive a monetary gift from the Chamber. This year its the Barrington Food Pantry. We are working on kinds of good things so stay tuned, check frequently for updates. To all Chamber members, Early Bird Registration info/form will be sent out to your email so keep your eyes open..

The GBCC Community Expo is looking for someone to volunteer their time for PR...contact radio stations, help with press releases, PSA's and other duties...have you been contemplating on a committee to help..now is your chance to help the Expo committee...any questions..contact Jan or Layne...Thanks!

A quick update on our food competitors for the expo are Stokewoods Diner, JJ's Restaurant, Frank Jones Pub, Nippo Lake, and Captain Hutchs. We have 3 dessert competitors: My Friend's Bakery, The Holy Grail Restaurant, and the Portable Pantry.
