Coming in May!
Dear friends, I hope you will join me on April 28 and May 5 to explore the art and music from the latest The Response Project. After my Essential Tremor diagnosis in 2020, I decided to use creativity to acquaint myself with my new reality. Working with concert:nova, Visionaries and Voices, and composers Molly Joyce, Forrest Pierce, Adeliia Faizullina, Matthew Evan Taylor, and Hanna Benn, we are presenting music and artwork that explores what it means to search for belonging in a world unprepared to embrace differences.

Martin again!
Next in this Sunday’s program is Radiant Pillars by Martin Hebel, composed in 2020. If you follow this page, you might recall that we had the privilege of rehearsing with the composer. He was able to provide his inspiration for Radiant Pillars, which can best be summed up with this excerpt from his website. (Link in comments)
“Radiant Pillars is an abstract reflection on two scientific observations which expanded our understanding of the universe: the Hubble telescope image, “Pillars of Creation,” showing stars forming from massive clouds of gas and dust, and the discovery of the Cosmic Microwave Background, the edge of the universe still expanding from the Big Bang.”
The Greater Columbus Community Orchestra is proud to feature new compositions in our performances, and it’s even more thrilling when a composer can provide our musicians with such insights.
We appreciate the Johnstone Fund for New Music for their support and encouragement in bringing these unique compositions to life.
We hope you’ll join us this Sunday at Hilliard Presbyterian Church at 7pm to experience this new and innovative piece.
Should be an experience!
