I've had a bit of a change from the usual publishing work this week, this is a set of hands I've drawn for some design consultants near Manchester. I had to match a style, which always adds an unwelcome element to the job but they've seen the first one and liked it so fingers crossed on Monday morning
I've been spending a bit of time looking through old illustrations on my hard drive, so many of them! There must be thousands, many of which I'd completely forgotten about. This is a selection I did for DK a scarily long time ago but still looking like the sort of thing I might still do today
A selection of moth illustrations for a book for Princeton University Press
These are just a selection of illustrations produced over the last 4 years or so for a number of science books aimed at non-scientists, mainly published by MIT Press and Princeton University Press in the States, but put together here in the UK.

I'm currently illustrating a book about Occult Symbols for Thames and Hudson, there are hundreds, ranging from the very simple up to the more complex and from all cultures and periods.
I've been illustrating a series of books about specific animals for a few years now for Quarto Books here in the UK, which are published by Princeton University Press in the USA. I'm currently working on Lizards, these are some illustrations from the Goats book, mainly mono only but a few bits of colour dropped in where needed.
A selection of illustrations from a total of 65 recently completed for a book about evolution called The Story of Life, for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The publisher has just told me Story of Life is listed in the Top Ten science books for this Fall by Publisher’s Weekly!
