Michiana FC welcomes Argentine Hernán Nuñez Ghilardi as Technical Director. Coach Nuñez Ghilardi brings an extensive background both as a player and as a technical director to our organization. Ghilardi has played and coached in Mexico as well as Argentina and is very excited to help build our program and compete in the USL. We are eager to get started and planning to strongly focus on player development to establish a strong foundation for our organization. Bienvenido Hernán!

For immediate release: Schedule changes for League Two & W League upcoming fixtures!

League Two: In order to accommodate some unexpected changes for our opponents. Our away fixture for today has been rescheduled for June 18th. It will still be played at Lancing City FC. Just later in the season.

W League: Due to some unexpected stadium date changes for DCFC, we will be traveling to Detroit City FC for our first leg this Thursday May 23rd and in exchange, they will be coming to play us on June 19th. The home fixture will be played at Jimtowns’ Sharpe Stadium. 7:00pm. If you have already purchased tickets for this event, your tickets will be switched to the new date. This weekend our men and our women play home fixtures @ Leighton Stadium. The Lions take on Kalamazoo FC on Saturday night and the Lionesses get to run it back vs. Midwest United Sunday Evening 7:00pm!

A club whose predecessors ended last year’s season with zero wins and at the bottom of the table now has a daunting task ahead. The team has only been training together for a couple weeks now as players are continuing to arrive, yet already played their first game this past Wednesday on the road. Now this group of young men must take on last year’s division Champs Flint City Bucks! a challenging task for these newcomers to prove what they are capable of against a team like Flint City Bucks who consistently finish top of the division.
Flint City have had more players turned professional than any other club in the Great Lakes division and have been training together for a long time. Our boys are definitely the underdogs in this match.

This is definitely a building year for the entire program. The Lions have their work cut out for them and carry a chip on their shoulders as they dropped their season opener 0-1 at Midwest United. This was their first game ever playing together with less than two weeks of training AND they just met each other. Yet this group has begun to gel and to form unity with each other. Now the daunting task at hand is to show that they belong and that they can compete at this level.

M.F.C. LIONESSES

The Lionesses are already garnering attention on their own merit before they even play their first match. The Lionesses open the season at home vs. Kalamazoo FC. The game will take place at Jimtowns’ Sharpe Stadium, with a Kick off slated for 7:00 pm.

The Lionesses are looking to etch their name in history this season. There are 81 teams playing in various divisions across the country and vying for a national title in the W League. Our Lionesses form part of the 20 expansion teams for 2024. Out of those 20 expansion teams, the Lionesses round up the top 5 newcomers to watch for the season

9 years ago, in August of 2015, two Penn HS girls soccer stars; sophomore Kristina Lynch and freshman Maya Lacognato stepped on Penn HS soccer field and in three seasons together made Indiana high school history.
Lynch (138 goals, 60 assists) and Lacognato (38 goals, 36 assists) dazzled fans and led Penn HS to 2 IHSAA State Championships and to the number 1 ranking in the country.
Upon high school graduation, their paths diverged. Lynch played at Florida State University and Notre Dame, Lacognato at IUPUI and Kentucky. And now they are reuniting. They will be back together on the pitch playing for Michiana FC’s Lionesses

JOIN US TODAY Thursday, May 16th, Lacognato will put on Lionesses jersey and take on Kalamazoo FC in the USL W-League home opener at Jimtowns’ Sharpe Stadium, kickoff at 7:00pm. Lynch is expected to make her debut later in the season and local fans will once again have a chance to see these two groundbreakers dazzle and win together.

ALERT: Lionesses Sign Two-Time NCAA D1 Champion Kristina Lynch

Michiana FC’s Lionesses sign forward Kristina Lynch!
Lynch played in 77 games, making 51 starts, in four seasons at Florida State before transferring to Notre Dame for her fifth year. Lynch tallied 12 goals, including three match-winners, and added three assists, while helping lead FSU to dual NCAA National Championships in 2018 and 2021. A two-time CoSIDA All-Region selection, Lynch was also the NCAA Elite 90 Winner for the 2020-21 season.

At Notre Dame, she played in all 20 games with 15 starts, logging 1,092 minutes on the pitch and scored 6 goals – which tied for the 2nd most on the team!

In 2017, Lynch took home United Soccer Coaches, TopDrawerSoccer and ISCA High School National Player of the Year honors and was also a two-time Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year, and USA Today First-Team All-American.

The Michiana Lions FC have signed Puerto Rican midfielder Kikito Ramirez pending league and federation approval.
Ramirez (19) played 3 seasons for Liga PR club Puerto Rico Sol.
Lions’ new campaign gets underway on May 15 at Midwest United (7:00 pm ET).

Michiana FC Lionesses have signed defender Naphtalie Northe pending league and federation approval.
The 5’7” Haiti international made 27 appearances for Haiti U20 and U17 national teams including three at the FIFA Women’s U20 World Cup vs Nigeria, Germany and China.

Michiana FC’s Lionesses completed the signing of Notre Dame midfielder Ellie Ospeck, pending federation and league approval.
Ospeck made 63 appearances in 4 years for Notre Dame and scored 8 goals.
She will add depth in midfield which includes Giulia Franco, Leena Thomas and Reagan Pauwels.

While FWFC currently has focused on the Men’s League 2 squad. Michiana FC now brings you L2 and WL teams with the Lions & Lionesses!

Our senior teams currently compete in the Great Lakes Division in both the L2 and WL segments. Our Academy teams cover a broader region in the immediate five state area as part of the Great Lakes and Great Forrest Divisions. Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky & Ohio. Our USL Youth teams compete during the summer in four neutral sites between Illinois, Indiana, Michigan & Ohio.

2. Our number one mission is to enhance the local player development experience above all and eliminate interference with club and school teams and seasonal play. We strive to provide great opportunities for players to advance and exposure to the highest level competition available. In that frame we hope that our local clubs and schools benefit from the added training that their top players are receiving as part of our player pool program and thus enhance their competitiveness.
