INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SOCIAL POLITICS

Globalization and the increasing of interconnection among actors bring both opportunities and threats. Cross cutting issues such as development of technology, global economic crisis, global warming, forced migration, terrorism,and contagious diseasehave emerged and need to be responded quickly. In order to benefit from the opportunities and to manage the threats, understanding and cooperation among actors whether on international, national or local level are required to deal with those cross cutting issues.

Therefore, we invite scholars, researchers and practioners to participate in the conference and contibute their ideas and recommendation in dealing with recent issues on social politics. We are looking forward to welcoming you in Yogyakarta on January 26-28th, 2016!

Communication and ICT Issues:
1. Media Studies in the Changing of Technology
2. The Studies of Effect and Reception of Digital Media
3. The Implication of Digital Media and Culture on Communication Strategies (Public Relations, Advertising, Health Communication, Political Communication, Marketing Communication etc.)
4. The issues of Digital Democracy (in the media context, communication model, public sphere etc.)
5. The needs of digital literacy for civic participation
6. Textual and media analysis in the context of digital culture

b. Call for Paper

We invite you to participate in the conference by submitting an abstract of no more than 350 words to [email protected] and or [email protected] before September 17, 2015. Please indicate following items in your abstract :
- The theme of which your paper belongs to
- the title of the paper,
- name of author(s) (maximum 3 persons in one group)
- email of author(s),
- institutional affiliation
- at least five keywords

A succesfull abstract must be followed by submitting a full paper that is:
• Written in English
• Between 5.000-7.000 words
• Following the Harvard Citation style or APA citation style
Please submit your full paper along with a copy of payment receipt to [email protected] and or [email protected].

All succesful papers will be published in a CD-based proceeding and an ISBN book. Selected papers will be published on Journal Government and Politics and Journal of International Relations.

c. Registration Fee

• For International Presenters 200 USD.
• For International Student 100 USD, please present your student ID card
• For Indonesian Presenters 500,000 IDR (one day conference) or 1,250,000 IDR (three days conference)
• For Indonesian Students 100,000 IDR (one day conference) or 250.000 IDR (three days conference), please present your student ID card)

d. Important Dates

Abstract Submission Deadline: September 17th, 2015
Notification of Acceptance: September 25th, 2015
Full Paper Submission: November 25th, 2015
Final Registration Deadline: December 2nd, 2015
The Conference: January 26-28th , 2015

Welcome to the ICSP 2016 page!

Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta in collaboration with several partner universities organize an International Conference on Social Politics under the topic of “the Challenges of Social Sciences in a Changing World”. This conference aims to provide a platform for scholars, researchers and practioners to share their insight, ideas and experiences.
