Baby Blanket Bonanza got a serious kink in it with me being so sick all last week. It's a sad day indeed when one is too sick to knit; a whole week out of commission is a travesty. Happy to be getting back on track, even if it is very, very slow going.

I figure as long as everything is done in time to give for Christmas gifts, I'll be satisfied with that.

Gotta get my health back on track!

Baby Blanket Bonanza...slowly going, but going. Finally getting into the rhythm of the pattern, and I'm not having to re-knit every row because I purled when I was supposed to knit or knit when I was supposed to purl. Actually managed to do a pretty significant fix-it a few repeats back without having to rip everything out and start over. Quite proud of myself for that, even though the "fix" was by no means revolutionary.

I'm trying really hard not to think about the fact that after this one...I have to knit a whole-ass second one. 😖😬🤦🏻‍♀️😵‍💫

Due to his breathtaking lack of respect for the craft, as punishment for abusing my yarn Ralph is now being forced to serve as a pattern stand.

He is unperturbed by this development. 😼🖕🏻😼🖕🏻😼🖕🏻

Guess who lost at yarn chicken? 😭😭😭😭

Do I love the gorgeous brocade design and texture of this blanket? Yes.

Do I HATE the fact that I keep having to reknit entire rows because I made a knit that should have been a purl, or vice versa, and now all subsequent 200 stitches are wrong?

ALSO YES 😖😖😖😖

I always say...never believe ANYONE who tells you that knitting is a relaxing hobby. They sit in a throne of LIES.

I have three to make, so my Outlander cardigan (and everything else) is on hold for now.

Ralph has a new box. He has to sit in it, because he's too fat and chunky to comfortably lay down in it. He gets mad when Trixie sits in it, and gives her an EPIC death stare until she moves.

Loving this. It was recently made into a series on Hulu, which is now on my watch list.

Trying to get through my mountain of backlogged Book Of The Month books so I can earn my badges and get my "Reading Is Sexy" hat 🤣🤣🤣

Wore a shawl to work today that I made...3 years ago? And have never worn before. It does not match my dress at all. And Ralph is probably LIVID that I took it, because it's where he sleeps when he hauls his tubby self into the bf's closet to make a nap.

Loving the way this simple scarf is turning out. It's a little thinner than I'd like (only about 4.5"), but this yarn is insanely soft and squishy, and the 2x2 ribbing gives it a nice amount of stretch.

Day 1 of healthy(ish) dieting...Panera You-Pick-Two, cup of French Onion Soup and a half Ranch Cobb Salad with grilled chicken.

And NO soda! I was a good girl and brought water with me!

...and then there's Trixie.

Trixie, who invariably gets the zoomies at 3am. Or who refuses to play with any store bought toys, but has a collection of those little plastic pizza tables stashed around the house. Who I kept a giant Walmart box in the living room for for MONTHS because she just...lived in it. Who sits on my neck while I'm sleeping and yowls into my ear just for funsies. Who is the NOISIEST cat you'll ever meet in your life.

A royal pain in the ass. But, honestly, we love her just as much as Ralph. ❤️❤️

It's been a minute since I've posted Ralph content. This chonky boi has become the absolute biggest sweetheart on the face of the Earth. All he wants is cuddles, pets, a full food bowl, and to stand sentry outside the bathroom to ensure your safety.

He's gotten so comfortable since we brought him inside. He plays with Trixie now, which he didn't used to do. The vet says he's about 5 years old or so, and we like to think we've given him the first safe, steady home he's known.

We love this tubby little monkey more than anything ❤️❤️

Tragedy hath befallen the Pequod! My needle SNAPPED mid-stitch! No undue pressure, no misuse, no sitting/kneeling/leaning on it...just SNAPPED. Had to make an emergency needle order from KnitPicks, and the needles won't be here until WEDNESDAY 😭😭😭 Melville is officially on hold until then...

I really wish I could better capture the brilliant cabling detail on the raglan sleeve of Melville...a series of wrapped stitches and cables that spell out SOS in Morse Code. Although Morse Code has only been around for a little over a decade and a half by the time Melville wrote Moby-Dick, thereby making it EXTREMELY unlikely that Ahab or any other sailors aboard the Pequod would have even known what it was, it's still a fantastic nautical detail that I am just in love with.

I've got just shy of 6 inches on the needles so far, comprising probably about 6 to 8 hours worth of work. I can't wait to get to the colorwork!

Cast on the Melville pullover. I wish you could appreciate the gorgeous deep blue...Knit Picks Palette Fi*****ng in Marine Heather, and eventually Knit Picks Palette Fi*****ng in Mist will take over. My fingers already ache, and this guy is going to challenge me every step of the way... CAN'T WAIT!!

Gnocchi chicken skillet for dinner...super easy meal, throws together in less than 20 minutes. Added on some garlic bread sticks, and made for a very yummy easy peasey dinner!

The first video I watched showed her talking about how she cast on 20 more stitches than needed and compounded that error with every increase until she ended up with literally hundreds more stitches than there should have been.

I am DYING at my desk AT WORK, wheezing and going "OH MY GOD, GIRL, I FEEL YOU!" laughing my whole entire ass off.
