Good Samaritan Nurses
WSNA at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, WA. | 750+ Nurses Strong trying to help our patients.
Remember this? This was the most iconic picket. Can you believe it was a year ago? Well Good Sam nurses we need to turn up this heat again. Along with this picket being a year ago, GS Multicare has had one year to create a cost center for our break nurses. ONE YEAR… and on 4/25 we were told they don’t have one? Break nurses were to go live on MAY 1.
Tomorrow we are going BLUE WEDNESDAY! Wear your WSNA shirts and break for safety buttons! If you don’t have either of these items please reach out to any of the officers or to us on Instagram.
Please file an ADO if you miss your breaks - all you have to do is state when and why you missed them!
DO NOT CLOCK YOUR BREAK IN KRONOS IF YOU DONT GET A BREAK!
PS: We WON our ULP against MC regarding our blue WSNA shirts at work so your safe to wear them. 💙🧢
Jared our Co-Chair supporting at the table today! If we learned anything during negotiations it’s that we are stronger together! Let’s help them by supporting them while they gear up for some hard fought negotiating at the table! We got your back!! 💙✊🏻
Come and observe staffing committee this coming Thursday 7/27 10:30am-12.
This one is important as they are trying to roll out “Care Model Re-Design” aka “Team Nursing”

Congratulations Good Sam Nurses! You have one hell of a contract! Ratification passes!
And now your bargaining team can rest. It’s amazing how far we have come keep up the great work!
Bring the bubbly!! Let’s chat tonight!
After 20 hours of bargaining we have come to a TENTATIVE AGREEMENT! Your bargaining team recommends a yes vote and you are going to love this one!
Here are some spoilers:
- Float Pay $5/hr
- Some AMAZING new wages!
- Safe Staffing Premium $5/hr built around our staffing matrix
- BREAK NURSES!
-Much BETTER staffing conditions
- EVERY unit will get their OWN charge nurse (hello NICU & START) & those charges will not take a patient load.
- A substantially better ratification bonus!
…. More details to come!
We could not have done this without a healthy strike vote right out underneath the nose of Good Sam. YOU ALL SHOULD BE SO INCREDIBLY PROUD OF YOURSELVES!!
Xoxo, your bargaining team.
HOLY MOLY!! Way to freaking go Good Sam Nurses!! What an amazing turnout! Let’s do the dang thing!
Meanwhile your bargaining team is still working at the table tonight. We will keep you updated!!
Ooooop! 🙊 let day two of strike voting commence!!
Tomorrows strike vote will be held where the vote of no confidence and info picket were - 15th and 4th, outside the main hospital entrance.
After MultiCare originally put us in the facilities building, they then moved us down to the marketing and communications building - half a mile away from the main entrance on a gravel road. We want this vote to be accessible to everyone, so we’re moving it. (We’ll have a big WSNA tent and lots of signs so that the public also knows we’re holding a strike vote).
We’ll be there from 0630-2100 on 6/20 and 6/21. If you are not a member in good standing, we can process your application on site to make sure you’re eligible to vote!
Please come out and vote! This is a big decision, and we’re happy to answer questions and provide any information you need before casting your ballot. Hopefully this vote will motivate MultiCare to come to the table and reach a fair contract on negotiations on the 21st.
Join us tonight! We are going to talk logistics and we are here to answer your questions!!

Please Attened sip n chat tomorrow 6/15 8-9pm and Friday 6/16 8-9am! We will have the whole bargaining team including our attorney there to answer questions!!
WE ARE UNBELIEVABLY PROUD OF YOU GOOD SAM NURSES!!!
Plus a 1 million dollar raise, new hospitals, new towers, more management… blah blah blah.
But yeah! Let’s start chopping at the resources that nurses use daily to make it through our already short shifts.
Two options for sip n chat this week! Tonight from 8-9pm and Friday 8-9am!
Message us if you don’t have the link!
A little more insight to the gaslighting from the c-suite. 🥸
Hey ,
Looks like you might need to sell a yacht or two, give up your rainier season tickets, & sign yourself up for one of Multicares proposed financial literacy classes. 🤷♀️
Because apparently safety has a price tag.
Take a look at the corporate wages…. This is insane. Time to start donating some of this hefty paychecks towards your staff and patients in your hospitals.
Join us tonight for updates on our marathon session!!
Grace is in the Cafeteria today from 12-7pm! Go get your strike assessment completed!! ✊🏻
The house is packed and we are eagerly awaiting Negotiation #17 to start! Multicare will provide us their counter proposals here soon!
Hey Bill! You sure seem to be asking for money a lot for an organization who keeps buying more hospitals…we got some amazing community responses from the flyers passed out to hotel guests and people heading to the newest MultiCare Foundation fundraiser.
Ps - thanks for calling the police on a group of polite, non-disruptive nurses exercising their voice. The officer gave us his support and took a picture with us!
Today was supposed to be Negotiation Day 16. WSNA was ready to bargain at the table today & Multicare was not. Today’s Negotiating has been cancelled due to this. Your bargaining team will be working today on preparations for our next negotiation day on May 30th.
Last night was MultiCares “corks and crush” fundraiser - the annual event meant to raise money for their foundation (tickets were 300 dollars each!)
Well, a couple of nurses wanted to make sure the executives going to the event knew that their friend Bill Robertson inside had recently been the subject of a vote of no confidence where not one single nurse at Good Samaritan said they were confident in his ability to lead as CEO.
After getting chased out of the event by their director of special events on a golf cart, we handed out flyers to the (very fancy) cars entering. We saw a very angry Bill Robertson drive RIGHT past us - we hope this makes him realize that if he isn’t willing to come to the table and be reasonable, we are going to continue to show up like this.
Reading Multicare’s update today and they failed to leave out their ratios of 8+ patients in their “new care model”.
377 unanimous votes of no confidence in Bill Robertson the CEO of Multicare.
Multicare continues to preach at us that their quality and patient satisfaction scores are low and that is the nurses are responsible. They think a financial literacy class is going to help? Cmon…. We have solutions but they haven’t been willing to listen.
We need the Good Sam Nurses to show up tomorrow!! We mean business here! This is about patient safety which must come at a hefty price tag per Multicare!
All our ask was to maintain our current DOH staffing plans already submitted. We asked for a free charge nurse for all units, a flex nurse, and adequate break coverage. Your multicare team responded with considering break coverage but only because that is now a law and if you don’t get breaks they pay hefty fines. Addressing staffing solutions was a “HARD NO” and instead they want to provide nurses with a “Financial Literacy class” because nurses don’t understand the business side of things. Your bargaining team asked “What is the price tag on patient safety?” The response from MC lead negotiator was “We will not answer that question”. So how’s the time to be mad folks…. You get up and get loud to make a difference for our community or we walk away.
THIS TUESDAY! MAY 16th! We need you to vote! Time to crank the heat up another notch!
Join us tonight!
We are still having sip n chat tonight! Please come and listen as we will have some BIG updates on our “next steps” will look like!
Bring your calendar!
TOMORROW 4/28 @ 1:30pm:
This is just as important as the picket! We need lots of people there as Multicare will be in front of the Department of Health.
Multicare has claimed they are “losing money” but has painted such a beautiful proposal for a new tower that completely says otherwise. We all know we need another new tower for our community but it needs to be SAFELY staffed.
Let’s continue to defend our community hospital!

We would love to have more speakers!
We had such a fun day today! Thank you GSH Nurses and our community support! There were nurses from all over the state of Washington marching with us, some drove from Spokane!! Tomorrow we will hold our regularly scheduled sip n chat! We want to review the DOH hearing that is this Friday. Attendance at this is just as important as todays picket. Wear your WSNA blue and be ready to bring the hard questions!
