We haven't been out in a long time due to some unforseen circumstances, but managed to this weekend. What a stunning little place

Big shout out to Lancashire LAD Photography for this location what a stunning place that's has been left with everything still in. Couldn't find any history on this property but one of the best explores we have done in a while.......

A few from the ruins that was once a 5 star hotel, St. David’s Hotel was an Edwardian Era hotel In 1922, a devastating fire destroyed the interior of the Hotel, so that Walton's original design commission has been lost.[1] The Hotel was then rebuilt hurriedly by Griffith Morris. The three bay centre is now flanked by two storeys of stone, two of roughcast and the attic only is mansarded. The centre has also been altered on the top two floors and has a ground floor addition.

It is unclear from the records how much of the original interior structure has survived. The later, low quality, extensions have diminished the grand aspect of Walton's original structure. Despite this, the Hotel is retained in Cadw's listing description for Coleg Harlech, which is a Grade II* Listed Building, and this suggests that the Hotel was notable due to its group value.

Welcome to Santa's Tavern.

History - Scales Hall, which became Scale Hall Farm dates from 1685, although there must have been an older building, as its former barn, was originally a tithebarn dating back to 1324, which became the Lancastrian pub in 1983. It opened as the Scale Hall Country Club & Restaurant in June 1985. The barn is now an Indian Restaurant called the Barbar Elephant
Looking at relevant trip advisor comments the place did really well for itself earning a great reputation as a local and guest hotel, in more recent years it seems the managers changed and it started to go down hill from there. Money needed spending and things needed repairing both of which were not done causing the pub to close in 2015.

Last nights adventure to Denbigh Mental Asylum, now ruined by children setting fires. Still one of the most architecturaly beautiful buildings in Britain......
