NEW YEAR MESSAGE - GHANA ARMWRESTLING FEDERATION

Thankfully, we all have had a great 2023 and we can only be grateful to God for His mercies in seeing us through the year.

As a Federation, the Ghana Armwrestling chalked lots of success, achieved greater feats and and continued to mark its territory in the sporting fraternity.

Our major highlight was the successful hosting and wining the 12th edition of the Africa Armwrestling Championship where we won 138 Medals.

We also worked aggressively to have Armwrestling aired on live Television for many of the events we put together. This is an enviable achievement and we must be proud of ourselves.

Ghana was represented at the World Armwrestling Championship in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

For the first time, had representation at the World Combat Games held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and our performance was remarkable.

Our youth development program, HD+ Kids Armwrestling, also went for second season this year where we scouted young athletes to represent Ghana at the Africa Armwrestling Championship and the upcoming Africa Games.

As we highlight these achievements within the year, our major setback has been funding to get more athletes to compete in the World Armwrestling Championship and as a Federation, we will continue to engage corporate bodies to come on board.

I am very grateful to my incredible management board, technical team, our sponsors and partners who believed and trusted our brand.

As we begin 2024, I want to encourage our pullers to continue giving out their best, referees to study the rules of the game and our backroom staff to continue working hard.

In 2024, our focus will be the African Games in Ghana. This is a time for us to prove to the country that Armwrestling has come to stay.

We will strengthen our regional associations, leadership, build capacities of our referees and coaches etc.

I wish all a Happy New Year and I pray for victories and may your heart desires be fulfilled.
