JUNE

Peering down at my baby, I tried not to shed a tear. Martha Mary Storm was the name Kristen gave to her, in honour of the two women who played significant roles in our life.

I tenderly caressed her red hair, which was so much like her father's. The only thing she picked after me was her honey-brown eyes.

She produced noises in her throat, and I did the same, inducing her to giggle like a darling. It has been 6 months since I gave birth to my baby. Favour and Henry literally live with us. They do nothing else in their leisure aside from spending time with their granddaughter, who I have no doubt will be spoiled rotten.

It doesn't help matters that Mark adores her. He's always getting presents for her, declaring to be the best uncle she can ever have.

He hasn't found a girlfriend yet, though he insisted he wasn't in a haste to find one. I have sought countlessly to help him out, to ease my guilt, but he doesn't seem to want that. Kristen asked me to let it.

“Darling, Mark is outside,” Favour announced the minute she walked into the nursery. Without glancing at me, she scurried over to the crib. “Baby, your favourite granny is here!”

I rolled my eyes at her words, smiling a bit when Mary made some baby sounds, beaming up at her. “What is he doing outside?” I frowned, wondering why he didn't come in like he normally does.

“He claimed there was something crucial he needed to do. Go ahead, I will look after the baby.”

“That's odd.” I stood up from the recliner I was sitting on, and Favour occupied it without missing a beat, grinning at Mary, who was still making adorable sounds. “I will be right back.” I need to check on Mark. I could tell something wasn't right.

“Take your time. Mary doesn't need you,” Favour replied, waving me off. “She needs her grandma, and I'm here

Harboring feelings for someone older than me seems deadly especially when the said person is my uncle.
Despite knowing this, the thirst for a drop from his hot-as-hell river of sexiness can't be quenched. Fantasies turned into cravings which in turn spurred the implementation of my devious plans to get him all to myself.
