Full moon bath with the one and only 📷 Dec ‘21. I’d just landed home from an amazing work trip to Fiji a few days before this shoot ~ feeling so elated, so aligned. Living dream island life, with beautiful people, doing what I love 🙏✨

Three days of self-TLC. Seven rainbows. No sharks 🙏
Our postural expression and body language in any moment, movement, interaction is often the most honest subconscious language we speak to one another.
In teaching movement, breath, meditation and practicing remedial bodywork I always remember that to work with the body is to work with the mind, and vice versa. The two become inseparably intertwined ~ bodymind.
When we listen as bodywork practitioners, movement teachers or people to the full presentation of any client/patient/person in the moment, we’re offered endless insight into how their nervous system is responding to stimuli ~ how they’re regulating, or not, to their current situation, environment and experience. Then we can encourage confidence, offer support and even facilitate any welcomed change they may be seeking and open to experiencing. If it’s too soon for more stimuli (they’re too overwhelmed already), we can start by simply honouring where they’re at so they feel confident in honouring it too.
✨.
Following what lifts me feeling oh so good ~ finding lightness in bodymind.
Flowing gently with momentum ~ enjoying the process.
Fell in love all over again with this magical ancient place 🐊 Kulki ~ Cape Tribulation.
I grew up in Yalanji ~ Far North Queensland. Tropical blooded. The wilder the land, the better for adventures.
Rainforest hikes, catching pipis on the beach and redclaw at the dam, waterskiing at Tinaroo, freshwater and saltwater fishing trips, secret waterfall swimming spots, and Great Barrier Reef snorkelling.
4WD trips, station camping, river crossings, Daintree treks across the ferry, and up and down the Kuranda range every other weekend to and from the Tablelands.
Tropical fruits, local produce, bush tucker. The most humid and salty air, rough sand, oversized seashells, beautiful turquoise ocean water that’s too dangerous to swim in for half the year (box jellyfish, irukandji) and very sketchy at dawn and at dusk (saltwater crocs, sharks).
Pouring rain and burning sun, hinterland drizzle and fog, tropical cyclones and floods.
This trip was to celebrate and commemorate my Gran’s 95 years earthside. She was equally sweet and salty, cheeky and stern, charming and assertive, resilient and compassionate ~ never losing her strong sense of self and holding onto her sharp, intelligent mind.
Going back to Cape Trib was as much of a little ode to her adventurous soul, while being so soul-soothing for me. Missing her warm cheekiness. Feeling even more in love with this precious lifetime ✨
Celebrating every woman in my life now ~ those I still hold so closely in my heart ~ and the very many throughout history who’ve empowered and inspired me endlessly.
So incredible seeing and supporting the next generations of women stepping into their power, chasing and living their dreams so whole-heartedly. I’m entirely here in your corner ~ expanding together limitlessly ✨
These are the people we can help ~ they are absolutely moved by any amount of support we can offer from near and far away. And somehow amongst all the heartbreak and very raw tragedy, they’re still able to say thank you. This beautiful human invited us back to his place to stay anytime. Tidied up a lot yesterday, but he will be cleaning mud out of the walls for months after the flood reached the second story ceiling height. Anything you can give is enough to help someone. Follow independent Instagram accounts like to find where to donate directly.
Thank you for following along with the NSW floods while so much is going on in the world ~ it can be so overwhelming and overstimulating to hold it all, and really we can’t. It’s an individual and collective endurance feat.
Remember our attention and awareness is more powerful than we can ever imagine. And we decide where we direct it, always. There’s no need to feel shame or guilt in tapping in and out to turn our focus inwards ~ to look after our health and well-being before overloading our nervous system and becoming unwell.
More than ever, giving a stranger or someone we know our full attention and awareness can mean the difference between them feeling completely lost or ready to keep going. And it seems hard for every human I meet to ask for help and support. Often when in shock, we don’t know what we need anyway.
Most of my attention this week has been directed to the war more globally, floods locally, and my beautiful Gran passing away… a heart-wrenching week. You never know the full extent of what people are going through ~ but at the very least giving our full attention to the people right at the heart of an issue, the ones having the experience, is where we can listen and find their truth, and where we will be able to give the most useful support. It’s so powerful to just listen.
I’ve decided to rest today and turn inwards. Stay well, stay connected to your centre. Big love, Jacq.

“Once I felt comfortable within my body, I have been able to feel it’s potential is limitless” ~ a recent moment of reflection in my beautiful client’s journey. From hesitation, fear and doubt to feeling confident and supported now in making so much incredible progress. How good ✨ And the most kismet reminder to reflect on our own journeys so far.
If we don’t feel adequately supported on the inside from ourselves, and on the outside from others and our environment, how will we ever be ready in bodymind to expand? To reach our highest self, performance, expression?
In my teachings, treating and practice, I start by seeing, guiding and finding opportunities for better support from the ‘ground up’, from the inside out first ~ selecting the best tools to anchor down and feel confident enough and in our power to be open. To try something new. To expand and progress.
I’ve been taking the time behind the scenes to reset my own solid foundations amongst all the momentum. It feels good and necessary to be anchored and supported ~ ready to open to what’s coming, and to share this with all of you ✨
“Once I felt comfortable within my body, I have been able to feel it’s potential is limitless” ~ a recent light bulb moment in my beautiful client’s journey to feeling confident and supported to make so much progress. How good ✨.
If we don’t feel adequately supported on the inside from ourselves, and on the outside from others and our environment, how will we ever feel our power to expand? How will we feel ready to reach our highest performance or expression? Where there’s a will, there’s a way, for sure. But sometimes that will needs the right support and confident gusto to take flight.
In my teachings, treating and practice, I start by seeing, guiding and finding opportunities for better support from the ‘ground up’, from the inside out first ~ selecting the best tools and helping to ‘anchor down’ well enough to be open and confident to expand into something new. To shift stagnancy and raise the vibe.
Once we feel adequately supported and in our power, we feel free to start integrating and transferring this exploration across each multiplanar layer and depth of bodymind.
That’s when we experience our possible limitlessness. That’s where we feel like our best selves. At home, ready to fly higher than before.
I’ve been setting up my own solid foundations bts amongst all the momentum. So good to feel anchored, supported and open to what’s coming ✨
“I want to be around people that dream and support and do things.” ~ Amy Poehler.
Feeling immensely grateful for all the incredible people who’ve been in my orbit this week ~ the dreamers, the doers, the supporters.
It’s a beautiful thing when the right people and all we really need in each moment land in abundance ~ right on time, every time. Even the tricky stuff can become really useful when it feels possible to reframe.
Big love to you all. x Jacq

Our bodymind can change states in the blink of an eye ~ it’s how and if we can choose to slow down, speed up, resist, accept, open, expand into incoming experiences (nervous system stimuli) that equates to where we are from moment to moment.
Everything out there is either pushing and pulling us around, or we are learning to wrangle our attention and go our own way with intention, as best we can.
With practice, presence and determination we can decide what energy we bring to each moment, to this experience or interaction, to our practice, to our people, to others, to ourselves. Seeing what’s challenging us as often exactly what we need right now to take the next step ~ redirection and fire to evolve, grow and expand even further than before.
When we have this choice in how we respond, what do we choose ~ Remembering to breathe deeply, find space and feel supported first.

Grateful to explore, appreciate and live in such an incredibly beautiful part of the world, acknowledging the generations of Bundjalung people as the traditional custodians of this land today and always.

‘The mind is like the wind and the body is like the sand ~ if you want to know how the wind is blowing, look at the sand.’ ~ B. Bainbridge Cohen.
As people, teachers, practitioners we learn to read body language, whether consciously or subconsciously. Being present and knowing how to see this stimulus allows us to ‘listen’ more deeply to nervous system responses (ours and theirs) and gives us integral information for how we choose to proceed, hold steady or retreat. Especially when working with students, clients, patients ~ this feedback gives us so much insight to inform our teachings and treatments.
Our bodyminds all share this constant feedback loop that can support incredible magic to unfold in every interaction ~ using our superpowers for good; raising the vibe wherever we can. Choosing how we move through life, how we want people to feel around us and how we want to feel around ourselves.
Remember to turn this talent inwards to check in too. If you’re needing a little extra tlc and grounding this week, I see you and hear you ~ hold yourself and supports close, feel the way forward or just anchor into now.
x Jacq.

Everything we experience is stimulus for the nervous system ~ overloading an already stressed system (person) is never useful, even when our intention is positive.
“Listening” is what I refer to as using all of our senses and mirror neurons to see, hear, feel, be present with the person in front of us for therapeutic intervention or teaching/training.
Listening to how the nervous system (the person in front of us) is responding ~ then helping to create internal and external support first. Only then will change be possible through adjusting and adapting accordingly in each moment. This is where practice and experience in being present with people, communicating and truly ‘listening’ in to bodymind outweighs all other skills. Importantly this requires that we let go of our ego and being attached to any preconceived notion or objective. Stay present with your people and see them rise to their limitless potential.

“Much of our western lifestyle is oriented in the direction of eliciting the fight-or-flight response which is repeatedly brought forth without conscious effort... We must develop ways that enable us to cope more effectively by making use of the relaxation response ~ a remarkable, innate healing mechanism, yet neglected asset for health.” Dr Benson / circa 1975.
Relax with me in a dreamy, supported and extended savasana state ~ rest and upregulate your parasympathetic nervous system through a soothing, ooze-worthy breath and body awareness meditation. Tuesday 6-6.30pm (DM for details).
From this week’s invitation to practice with me ~ coming together online weekly for guided holistic movement and intuitive connection to self and other.
Each practice this week will follow the broader theme of ‘supported endurance’, continuing to link with the Autumn season of turning inward, setting and holding boundaries, and letting go. We’ll explore the notion of finding our own unique state of being in each moment; breathing in space and support to tune in and choose our own way. How do we want to move through, with or around whatever we’re facing right now ~ knowing what’s within our power to act on, and what’s out of our control. Surrendering to any ease instead of pressing on the old way.
Do we fully realise our level of influence, our magic, our strength ~ do we know how potent we really are when we stop overextending? And if we ever truly allowed ourselves to land and linger in that place where we can feel into this completely ~ would we let ourselves revisit it and begin to embrace and embody it?
What would it take to let yourself indulge, to go there, to see you’ve had it with you all along...
5-6pm Tuesday 18 May
Evening Tonic Mat practice
We’ll be working on our awareness and endurance in movement using breath and cultivating strength. The perfect evening tonic as the weather grows colder.

We’ll delve further into beginner breath practices, directing prana around the body and allowing space to rest ~ resetting the parasympathetic nervous system for innate healing.
5-6pm Thursday 20 May

☼ Sometimes all we really need is to be reminded of our strength ~ of how far we’ve traveled, of all we really can hold, have overcome and achieved. And sometimes, when we’re really deep in it, that reminder needs to be reverberated back to us through seeing it in someone else.
We only experience what we’re ready for. Even when it feels we’ve been swept up in the current, away from all we know and all that anchored us. It is this time away from our centre that teaches us new ways to see ourselves, to connect with others perhaps more deeply or vulnerably, and finding alternative paths back home again ~ knowing that even if we grasp for it, what we think we’re looking for and what we think of as home can never really be a static, unchanging, fixed point.
Instead, in learning how to surf our own fluid, moving orbit around what we see as ourselves, our trajectory actually becomes an evolving state of being ~ an ever-changing experience. With subtle shifts and undulating rhythms, waiting for us to drop into and feel into every new corner, just like a beginner all over again. There is always fear, but it’s there to guide us, to see what really matters to us right now in this moment. And to find the most worthy ways of pursuing this bravely with grace, curiosity, kindness and love.
This is for you, if you need it now.
x Jacq
Taken from my invitation to tonight’s online practices with me:
Many on the path of self-development or enlightenment have chosen sacred solitude to overcome individual and collective distractions and desires that would otherwise pull them out of themselves, away from reaching higher and higher states of consciousness toward samadhi.
But, while both peaceful and/or productive solitude are necessary forces for growth, it is the interactions with the outside world and the people around us that often accelerate this growth, mirroring where we're at and where we still have room to move, expand and uplevel, if we choose.
This is where the first two limbs of Ashtanga Yoga - the Yamas and Niyamas; the universal and the personal; the external and internal elements - come together.
Can we feel strong and grounded in our sense of self, paying attention to where our individual experience intersects with our outer environment ~ feeling the push and pull all around us, without getting swept up in the current? Can we straddle the space of knowing ourselves so deeply, as ever-changing and evolving as we may be, while extending our feelers out into the world bravely, not knowing what we might find? Can we touch down and land in ourselves with love and steadiness, knowing when we're truly ok to compromise and when to hold firm?
Thank you to everyone for joining me to find strength and grounding in practice tonight from across the globe ~ Melbourne, Brisbane, Norway 💛 x Jacq
Taken from my invitation to tonight’s online practices with me:
Building resilience is a popular theme in corporate values fuzz and psychosocial circles for good reason. But what does resilience actually feel like to you, as something useful we can embody?
I’ve found my internal resilience only began to grow when I learnt to work with myself first ~ playing on my own team and being my own biggest supporter, instead of worst critic, and not waiting for others’ recognition.
Guiding myself gently through challenges; being really proud whether I win or fail. It is in these instances when I truly feel a sense of real resilience and strength ~ and when I experience a living sense of Yoga (meaning to ‘yoke’ or find union with self and higher consciousness).
So perhaps the better question is ~ what does playing on your own team look and feel like to you? My answer involves harnessing my own discernment and energy *for me* like I really mean it ~ consciously choosing multiple times during the day to work with myself through self-respect, worthiness, love, compassion and healthy self-restraint/boundaries.
It’s work, until it becomes automatic. And it’s especially necessary when I fail. Failing is inevitable in building resilience. It’s required and encouraged. Even in physical exercise we work to ‘muscle failure’ in order to gain more strength. Failure is the risk we need to face between becoming who we want to be and staying exactly where we are. But it’s how we talk to ourselves about potentially or actually failing that holds the difference in whether we’ll be willing to try anyway this time and next. And the difference in whether we actually feel more resilient after the fact, or not. Learning from failure, then letting it go.
Having my own back, even when I feel really off, scared, critical, overwhelmed or defeated, is absolutely vital. Meeting our challenges through this lens of working with ourselves can take us where we want to be with grace, steadiness and ease.
Join me in movement, breath and meditation tonight to fortify this in practice... building your version of resilience from the inside out. x Jacq
Each Monday I sit for a moment with a hot cup of tea looking out over this incredible spaciousness, feeling immensely grateful, and ready to scribe an invitation for the Tuesday evening online practices I run every week. And each week I feel into what’s been circulating and coming up, leading into our theme for the practices. Below is an excerpt from this week’s letter ~ DM me your email address if you’d like to receive these directly to your inbox (even if you don’t want to or can’t always attend the practices).
In Week 6 we’ll be regrouping and recharging ~ coming together through breath, awareness and movement in a slow and steady practice. Opening our hips, hearts and minds, gently but intently. And perhaps feeling more connected to ourselves and to one another across the globe.
This is a chance to regather our energy ~ a sense of calming down before taking off again. I encourage you to take your time throughout the practice. Feel into every millimetre and each breath ~ lots of vagal toning in this one, which is the key to helping your body recover more swiftly and efficiently after experiencing stress.
5-6pm ‘Evening Tonic’ mat practice (AEDT)
6-6.30pm ‘Relax Yourself’ meditation (AEDT).
