Sheryl Seifert for Posey County Clerk
My name is Sheryl Seifert and I am a candidate for election to the office of Clerk of the Posey Circuit/Superior Court
I would like to thank everyone for their support during my campaign. I would like to give a special thanks to my husband Greg for all the support and hard work he put into it. Even though we ended up on the short end I have met a lot of very nice people through out my campaign. I can’t thank everyone enough for all they did!!
I encourage you and all your friends and family to get out and vote!
Capped off the weekend Sunday with the Poseyville Autumnfest & Parade. Enjoyed shaking hands & seeing so many people. Turnout was awesome! I want to thank all my friends & family & supporters for all their help. I couldn’t do it without them. THANKS!!!
Had another busy weekend. Started off with a ATV poker run Saturday morning on our RZR. Beautiful day and great to help charities. Later on stopped by the Marrs Township Fire Department open house. Enjoyed visiting with many people and seeing Air Evac take off. Later on went down to the Point Township Chicken Dinner and enjoyed a delicious meal. Went to St. Matthews Oktoberfest then headed out to Hawg ‘N’ Sauce and enjoyed music by the Schelhorn Bros. Hate to see their patio music season end.
Want to give a shoutout to the three young men from Marrs Township Fire Dept. who responded to my mother-in-laws home today. Turned out to be a faulty carbon monoxide detector but their response and professionalism was very impressive. Thank you so much!!
Wanted to thank all friends and family for their support and help this weekend. Even though it was terribly hot. We had good support in New Harmony at the Kunstfest and also at the Mt. Vernon River Days Parade. It was great to have that kind of support. Enjoyed being with everyone!
Enjoyed a great fried chicken dinner at St. Wendel Sunday and tried to win some of the many great silent action gifts they had. Then spent the rest of the afternoon putting out signs and visiting supporters across the county.
Despite all the rain, it was great spending the weekend with family and friends getting ready for River Days. We did our best to participate and support the activities. It was still a fun weekend !
Hard to believe the kids are back in school. Time has flown by. We have been busy getting out and trying to gain support for the election. We are making our plans and getting ready to place our final orders. If anyone would like a yard sign, a shirt, koozies or would like to walk in parade, please call 812-838-4519. We appreciate all the support and encouragement we have received.
Enjoyed spending Tuesday evening at Posey County Night Out in the Park in Cynthiana. Met lots of nice, generous people who donated and prepared everything for the evening. Thanks to Patty Wilson and everyone involved for your hospitality!
Fun time at Weinzapfel’s last night!! Thanks to Bambi & to everyone that came!
We spent part of Saturday evening meeting & supporting the Wadesville Fire Department at their spaghetti fundraiser dinner. It was a very enjoyable evening!
Loving this weather. Thanks to everyone who took time out of their day Tuesday to vote. Turnout at polls was great. Thanks Posey County. Hope to have your support in November.

My name is Sheryl Seifert and I am a candidate for election to the office of Clerk of the Posey Circuit/Superior Court. I am a lifelong resident of Posey Co and graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. I am the daughter of Nancy Roach (late Bill Roach) of Mt. Vernon. I have one brother, Stan Roach, also of Mt. Vernon. I am married to Greg Seifert who is also a lifelong resident of Posey Co. Greg is the son of Marilyn Seifert (late Robert Seifert) of Marrs township. He has one brother, Kim Seifert, and one sister, Connie Seifert, all from Marrs Township. We have four children: Mindy Bourne, Marc Schmitzer, Celeste Murnan, and Suzi Seifert and four grandchildren. My husband Greg is serving as my campaign manager and Trinity Becker, our friend, is serving as my campaign Treasurer.
My husband and I belong to the Elks club and have participated in raising charitable funds for River Bend Food Pantry, Riley Children’s Hospital, Posey County Humane Society, Albion Fellows Bacon Center, Indiana Cancer Research, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Posey Co. and others. My husband and I attend Immanuel United Church of Christ. We are also members of Sons of American Legion and I am a member of the Democrat Women’s Club. In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, ATV riding, and attending the many functions of our grandchildren are involved in.
My career in County Government began in the Posey County Treasurer’s Office for seven years. I then worked in the office at Mt. Vernon Barge Service before returning to County Government in 1996. I have worked in the Clerk’s Office for the past 22yrs; the last 12 yrs as Chief Deputy and am currently serving in that position. I have served under four different Clerks, have assisted in establishing and working within a budget, and am familiar with many county processes. I am a longtime member of the Association of Circuit Court Clerks of Indiana and I have attended numerous conferences and training seminars.
The Office of County Clerk is a very fast paced office that handles a large amount of paperwork with a wide range of business consisting of: Civil and Criminal Law cases, traffic tickets, divorces, child support, small claims, protective orders, probation, passports, marriage license, election ballots, absentee voting, voting machines, candidate registration, wage garnishments, restitution, and bonding.
With my knowledge, experience, and commitment, I know that I can lead the Clerk’s Office efficiently and professionally. I assure the taxpayers of Posey County they will receive professional, courteous service. I enjoy working in County Government and look forward to serving the public.
If elected, I look forward to working with Circuit and Superior Court Judges and the Election Board to continue to provide prompt accurate service while always looking for ways to improve our service.
Thank you and I would appreciate your vote and support.
