DJ Nada One

I've been thinking a lot about the void streaming has filled in my life. Doing the DJ Streams once a week has always been such an awesome way to make the art that I create with mashups a community based interactive activity. During these past two and a half years, my streaming morphed into this amazing thing that I value so much in my life, but its role also became an escape from all the things I need to deal with. I think streaming can still be a part of my life, but in order for my life to get better, I need to stream far FAR less than I am currently, which I know by a standard streamer schedule is already incredibly minimal as is.

I've been thinking a lot about how exactly I want to make this change happen and the word I keep coming back to is "expectation". When I started, I planned out my streams A LOT. I thought that because I streamed less, I would put all my effort into promoting, getting ready, being a hype person, etc. Because I feel like no one would show up unless they knew it was happening. I'm ready to let go of that and just see who shows.

On the DJ end of my streams, I will no longer have promos or a regular set schedule. Part of this planning is the expectation that I will always do certain things once a month, which will for now have to go the wayside as well. This includes but is not limited to: Themed DJ Streams, and the MOTW/MOTM. You honestly might not see very much of me moving forward. And the times I do decide to stream it will have to be random based on whether or not it feels right for me to create the space for it in my life. You're just going to have to notice the link in the Discord or the notification on Twitch to catch me for all gaming and DJ streams, which will happen at random and not weekly.

Please know that I do not take this lightly. I know you all have expected me to provide this entertainment for you and I love love love doing it. But in order for me to be the best Nada One self I can be, I have to make this change starting today.

Feel free to ask questions and keep the amazing community of the Babble Fam alive in the Discord because I love that y’all do that despite my minimal stream schedule. Maybe some day I’ll get back to the standard set of Nada streams, but for now, I guess I’ll see ya when I see ya. Be excellent to each other, and so much love.

It is with great pleasure that I share that "If I Could Push Back Time" is my Mashup of the Month for November 2023. It uses "Push" by Matchbox 20 and "If I Could Turn Back Time" by Cher.

The story behind this mashup is pretty special to me.

It was originally an idea by Twitch user prncssmnstr. During one of my weekly Twitch DJ Streams, she redeemed a reward in the chat that allows viewers to ask me to try out a mashup. She said she had a vision that these two songs would work together. The mashup that I did of these two songs that night was so popular that it was named Mashup of the Week by my viewers. At the end of November, this and 3 other mashups went head to head in a week long multiple social media platform voting process where the Mashup of the Month is chosen. Out of the dozens and dozens of mashups I streamed live in November, prncssmnstr's idea ended up being the best mashup I did all month according to you all.

Just goes to show you how amazing it can be if you join in on the fun and drop a follow below. Sit back and listen to some mashups in a long form mix once a week or be like prncssmnstr and be a part of the creative process. Either way, this type of stuff is why I love streaming.

You read that correctly. I am returning with a dj set this evening! Not only that, but after much calculation while bouncing around with my DJ schedule, I've determined that Monday night has the most people tune in the most frequently. Therefore, moving forward, I'm happy to announce that DJ Streams will be regularly scheduled every Monday at 8pm EST!!

If you've never been to a DJ Stream, you can request a song live in the chat and I will mash it up with another song live. You can also let me know if you're feeling a particular mashup by typing "motw" (mashup of the week) in the chat. Lastly, if you stay until the end, I'll share with all watching a link to that night's mix for you to download and listen to on repeat. I have completed a second journey around the sun as a streamer, and to commemorate this occasion, I'll be doing an "OOPS ALL BANGERS" super mega long DJ Mix for you all that will marathon all of my favorite mashups discovered in this past year. With this long mix is of course all of the amazing other benefits of a DJ Stream including dancing avatars, song requests, and most importantly, a link to download the giant mp3 file that will be generated from this epic set. I will also be taking a ONE MONTH break from streaming soon so this will be my last DJ Stream for a while. I'll probably do another week of gaming, but if you watch me for my DJing... this one... is not to be missed. It all goes down tomorrow Wednesday 5/31 at 4:30pm EST.
