Hey Friends! Today is World Kidney Day! The main job of your kidneys is to remove toxins and excess water from your blood. They also help to control your blood pressure, to produce red blood cells and to keep your bones healthy. Every day your kidneys carefully control the salt and water in your body so that your blood pressure remains the same.

Unfortunately, one in three Americans is at risk for developing kidney disease, and high blood pressure and diabetes are two of the leading causes. Kidney disease is often referred to as a “silent killer” because a person can lose up to 90% of their kidney function before experiencing any outward symptoms.

So what can YOU do for your kidneys?
-Keep fit and active
-keep regular control of your blood sugar level
-Monitor your blood pressure
-Eat healthy and keep your weight in check
-Maintain a healthy fluid intake
-Don't smoke
-Don't take over-the-counter pills on a regular basis
-Get your kidney function checked

Our Physicians are available to do a kidney screening and answer any questions you may have, so click http://buff.ly/2metIE1 to make your appointment today!
