Diego Munoz, Houston ’18, is a healthcare consultant with Deloitte in Chicago and the treasurer for the Alumni Volunteer Corporation at Northwestern: “I am Mexican-American born in Austin, Texas. My father is Mexican from Michoacán and Mother is Mexican-American from Austin.”

“SigEp was my home away from home. I knew the moment I stepped inside the house that I made the right choice. The University of Houston is the 2nd most diverse college in the United States, and it showed in our chapter. I felt a part of the family, no matter what.”

Diego shared, “SigEp taught me to learn, listen and be patient, overall leadership skills (shout out to Ruck Leadership Institute!), camaraderie, time management, responsibility and understanding other people.”

From The Journal: At 13, Joey Mullaney, Quinnipiac ’17, found out he has Friedreich’s ataxia (FA), a rare degenerative disorder that affects coordination, mobility, speech and organ function. The diagnosis has presented challenges, but Mullaney hasn’t allowed the condition to keep him from his goals.

All of his endeavors — in addition to writing the book, he runs a blog, is a public speaker and maintains sound body as an adaptive CrossFit athlete — serve to show others that, even with a disability, there’s much to look forward to in life.

Far be it from me to disparage another conference, but I have to say this.
The NPC response to the Supreme Court ruling today about a woman’s right to make her own health care choices is beyond vapid. It is so weak that it would have better served them just to stay quiet.
