35 years ago I started a quilt. I made 6 squares and for life reasons packed the squares away with hopes of some day finishing it. Spring forward 35 years and along comes a childhood friend who is the most talented quilter I know. She lovingly put my squares together with hers and finished my quilt! She also finished 2 pillows I never finished! What a beautiful gift she has. I'm so happy to have my new quilt and pillows! Thank you Linda Hudock ! Love you my very talented dear friend!

Wanted to share two fun quilts that I just completed for a special friend in my life.
She shares: The quilts that Linda made for me far exceeded my expectations! I knew they would beautiful. I had no idea they would be THAT beautiful. After a few consultations on colors, quilt types, and sizes I gave Linda my design choices. These quilts were made with lots of love and expertise! My grandchildren now have heirlooms to pass on to their children.
Let me say thank you for giving me the honor and opportunity to be part of this wonderful and loving gift to them. I trust they will snuggle and love them for years to come!

Being "laid up" with a broken bone certainly can be a blessing in some ways. I have been trying to tidy up some loose ends in the sewing room, and here is one offering I'd like to share. The "Gina-marie" summer of 2013 quilt challenge was to choose a block that "you've always wanted to make" and go for it. Loving color, the brighter the better, I did the "Balkan puzzle" block for the front and added a "liberated" scrappy back with a few of my fav summer things, finishing it off with a scrappy multi color border....viola' !!

Want to let you all know that I broke my clavicle a few weeks ago and seeing as I won't be using any chain saws for spring wood cutting nor doing any mt biking for awhile, have just now starting to attempt to "work" at the sewing machine, being driven by my passion for the cloth, developing new processes to sew one handed...such a challenge...will keep you posted. I have about 4-6 more weeks to go.
