Gypsies in Cyberspace
Between 2010 and 2015, Jack Nimersheim & Kevin Sweeney released 12 albums together as "Gypsies in Cyberspace". It's true. Kev lives in Glasgow, Scotland.
Not bad for two guys, from two continents, who have never met one another, in person. It's hard to believe that Kevin and I recorded over 100 songs together...especially when you consider that the two of us never inhabited the same space, at the same time. At the time, I lived in Kentucky, in the U.S. 0f A. That pesky Atlantic Ocean separated us. And yet, the Internet provided us with the perfect
"World Will Turn" - Gypsies in Cyberspace
Kev and I had the good fortune of working with a whole bunch of talented musicians on the ten albums we recorded together as the Gypsies in Cyberspace. There were times, however, when, through either design or circumstance, the two of us ended up putting together a given song all by our little lonesomes.
Doing so was kind'a like walking a tightrope without a net, or riding a bike for the first time without training wheels...challenging, somewhat intimidating but, ultimately, gratifying as hell.
I recently reworked thirteen of these just-the-two-of-us songs and rereleased them on an album I called "Gestalt." It's an appropriate name. Necessity being the mother of creativity, the whole of our collaborative efforts frequently exceeded the sum of our individual musical skills.
There's a link to this "Gestalt" collection in the comments, below. Check it out, if you're so inclined. In the meantime, here's a teaser song, "World Will Turn," from from our 2013 album, "Middle of Nowhere."
Enjoy and...
Stay safe, everyone...

Slowly We Do Climb, by Gypsies in Cyberspace
Fifty years ago today, one man...with one speech...changed the world.
A couple years back, as part of the Peace Partners project, "Gypsies in Cyberspace" wrote and recorded a song honoring that man, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and his vision for humanity.
We still have a long way to go...indeed, we may never get there...but a half-century later, many good people continue to pursue "The Dream". One day, if we're lucky, it will become Reality.
This one features the original Gypsies' lineup:
Kevin Sweeney - guitar, bass, vocals
Gil Wayne - guitar, keyboards, drums
Chris Nurse - guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, vocals
Andy McGinty - guitar, bass, vocals
Jack Nimersheim - guitar, bass, keyboards, mandolin, accordion, drums, vocals

Transoceanic Railway, by Gypsies in Cyberspace
Okay...we've been a bit lax, when it comes to updating the Gypsies in Cyberspace page. To be honest, we've been so busy making music, we haven't set aside the time to share and promote it.
Let's remedy this, shall we?
Earlier this year, da Gypsies finished our fourth album, "Transoceanic Railway". The twelve songs on that album are now available for download, either collectively or individually, over on our Bandcamp page.
And here's the best news of all: we ain't charging a dime for them!
So, use the link, below, to head over to Bandcamp and grab your free copy of "Transoceanic Railway". You'll be glad you did...and we'll be thrilled to share our music with you.
Enjoy...and share this link, if the urge strikes you. There can never be too many Gypsies' fans out there!

With the start of a new month, we can once again offer 200 free downloads of the most recent Gypsies in Cyberspace CD, "Someone Else's Window", over on our Bandcamp site. (Obviously, we're not in this for the "fortune" part of "fame and fortune". lol)
We're pretty darn proud of these 12 songs. Give them a listen and, if you like what you hear, tell your FB friends...and tell them to tell their FB friends...about our latest musical efforts. Heck, "Share" the link, if you're so inclined; a little shameless "viral" self-promotion never hurts.
