If you can, please repost, the Apple Festival at WHV is an amazing opportunity to bring the Jewish community together. We are collecting non-perishable food for the local food pantries. There is something for everyone to begin our New Year Celebrations will a little old fashion fun. The team at WHV worked incredibly hard to gain input from the entire community. We have something sweet, learning, Israeli dancing, a concert, free food, a Kosher Food truck (to purchase), and Kona ice. Help us spread the word! The festival is meant to be intergenerational, bring the whole family! The Festival begins earlier at the JCC -- with Health and Safety Day, from 9-1 pm.

I am so proud of our colleagues at Heritage House!!!! We received this good news this week: From our Admission Director: I just wanted to take a moment to recognize how proud I am to be a team member of our community. I went to the OSU town hall on Tuesday to represent Heritage House. I met with case managers, OSU board members, and 42 other SNF members in central Ohio. I am so excited to let you know at the town hall Wexner Heritage House was recognized and awarded with the "patient choice" award for the fiscal year of 2024. Out of 42 other SNF's we had over 250 admissions just with the Ohio State hospital systems and had the most chosen facility over any other SNF involved. Thank you, team for all you do!!!! Thank you to the community for choosing us!💜

WHV is EXCITED about Sept. 15. The JCC will host Health and Safety Day from 11am to 1pm and WHV will host its SWEET AS HONEY APPLE FESTIVAL FROM 12:30 to 2:30 pm. Come hungry (with your wallets) as KOSHER Smoked on High Food Truck will be available from 11:30 to 2:30 pm. Rabbi Josh Warshawsky's concert will begin at 1:30 pm. Lots of celebration in anticipation of Rosh Hashanah and our amazing community!

We celebrated Brazilian culture yesterday with the Festa Junina, the festival in June to celebrate Love and Friendship and the Harvest! We tasted Brazilian foods and desserts and danced and had a concert. We event had a "mock" Jewish/Brazilian wedding to learn about both cultures. So much fun! Thank you, Chaplain Will for bringing us this great event. Our seniors socialized, ate, and danced all afternoon. We also got to celebrate Queen Lester's 97th Birthday! Mazel tov to you!

Last week was a busy and exciting time at Wexner Heritage Village as we celebrated several events.

One special highlight was our annual Juneteenth staff event. This year, we enjoyed Kona Ice and gave away our 2024 WHV T-shirts to staff. It's always an honor to celebrate diversity in our community and to honor all those around us.

Our summertime trips are in full swing and what a gorgeous day to see the Topiary Garden in downtown Columbus. We even got to see a new mom and her baby ducks. 🌳🦆

Yesterday the rain held out for WHV’s annual Butterfly Release in Honor of all residents we lost this year along with anyone in our own families. We made a prayer and sent the Monarch butterfly, widely thought to be a symbol of remembrance, off into the world. This gathering is always meaningful and full of sacred remembrance.

The Cottage was host to a Paint & Sip party with Jodi Senser Benningfield and it was amazing!! Just look at these pieces of art that were created! Such a delightful event shared with friends and family. 🎨🖌️🖼️

Wexner Heritage Village was honored to partner with JFS and JewishColumbus to bring Jonny Daniels so we could participate in the Torah Restoration Project. Jonny is the founder and Executive Director of the international program From the Depths. They aim to preserve the memory of the Holocaust and give a name to those who were brutally murdered and to give hope to the next generations.

Yom Haatzmaut at WHV was amazing! Such a joyful celebration with beautiful music, dancing and delicious Israeli food. Thank you Mim Chenfeld and her dancing group for the dancing lesson and great fun!

Love and Hugs continues to warm the hearts of our Zusman Hospice clients! We care for wonderful people and have the best team out there!
