We've completed our qualifier for the Channel Swim today. The water was measured at 15鈦癱.
The sun was trying to be present but not quite managing it for the first swim. 1 hour 33 mins swimming from New Quay to Llanina and back (3.5km), saw a few jellies on the way and there were a couple of stings but nothing horrific luckily 鈽猴笍 We all felt safe in the knowledge our support crew were nearby should anything happen, thank you so much to them! Some of us came out slightly blue and numb in places 馃ザ but all still smiling 馃榿

Rest time 1 hour 15 mins, the sun made an appearance towards the end as we ate hotdogs and flapjacks, drank hot chocolate and jumped around a bit to warm up. By the time we got back in with the sun shining bright, we were warmed up and ready for the next hour.

The second hour pretty much went the same but with a straight swim out to Llanina as the tide was now low. Total distance 2km. The sun came and went a few times but we breezed the 2nd hour and were out by 2:30pm.

Thank you everyone who supported us, thank you team for being amazing 馃槏 thank you to those in charge of organising forms, times, dates, making food, bringing drinks, arranging stickers, what a brilliant team 馃グ

Our winter pool training and spring / summer sea training is going to be put into practice on the 17th of June when we do our qualifying swim. For this we need to swim in water below 16鈦癈 for one and a half hours then out of the water for between one hour and one and a half hours then back in for an hour. Wish us luck 馃
