Monthly Event: 06/04/2024 1st Saturday:
Thank you all for attending the Yoga Session today facilitated by Mrs Rekha Girish and we sincerely thank Mrs Rekha Girish for her continued efforts to help the community.

We are pleased to receive the feedback about the multiple benefits of Social Yoga both from Health and Social Networking point of view.

We introduced Carrom Board play and we are pleased to know that it is generating good interest in it by both adults and kids.
We will make provision for 2 more Carrom Board hopefully from the next session onwards.

With the collective request from many of you, we have postponed the Autism Awareness Day to 04/05/2024.

Indian Heritage Centre UK celebrated International Women's Day 02/03/2024 Saturday at Cardiff. It was well attended by the women of Indian Origin. Mrs Tripti Megeri, Founder & CEO of Indian Heritage Centre opened the event with the welcome speech and introduced Mrs Tejashree Joshi to compere the event.

The key note speakers were Dr Smitha Mundasad, BBC Reporter & Presenter, Ms Riya Burrage-Male, International Athlete & Founder Director of KIBO Organisation and Dr Kavitha Pasunuru, Consultant in Child Psychiatry & Assistant Divisional Director in Community Services in Children & Families in Aneurin Bevan NHS Health Board, Newport.

Dr Girish, Consultant Anasthetist who is also a passionate singer opened the event with the prayer song.

The event compering was done by Mrs Tejashree Joshi seamlessly and asked the relevent questions to the Key Note Speakers to generate very good interactivity opportunity. Dr Smitha Mundasad focussed on the Challenges of the 2nd Generation Indians in UK, Career Choices, Respecting the Parent's wishes for their children and finding a fine balance in life. It was fascinating to hear her. journey from being a Medical Doctor in NHS to Journalism Career which she said that was always her dream to be.

Ms Riya Burrage-Male focussed on her views about her challenges of a women in sports career both from being a woman perspective that they are expected to be better than men in sports to be noticed before getting opportunities at the top level. It was heartening to learn that players had to fund their own passion to play sports even when representing their Clubs and Country. Ms Riya Burrage-Male was quite open and honest about the limited representation of ethnic minority background in the traditional sports in UK and reassured that they are making every effort to reaching out to the promote the sports among the ethnic minority population.

Dr Kavitha Pasunuru delivered a presentation on "Empty Nest Syndrome" and held a captivating interactive session among the audience. It was an eye opening experience for most audience as they were able to ask free flow questions and Dr Kavitha Pasunuru was able to provide logical responses.

Indian Heritage Centre Committee members Dr Girish Kothegal, Dr Sunil Pulapaka, Mr Hiren Joshi, Dr Deepak Megeri & Dr Ravindra took an opportunity to felicitate Dr Leena Menon and Dr Rekha Girish who both are doing excellent service to the community by way of promoting Arts & Culture of Indian Heritage. Dr Rekha Girish has been running Rekha Natya Academy and Dr Leena Menon running Samarpan Nrithyalaya in Cardiff. In the abscense of Dr Leena Menon, her husband Dr Govind Menon received the felicitation.

Ms Kushi Shetty and Ms Samyukta Megeri took pride in reading the biography of the Key Note Speakers, Dr Rekha Girish & Dr Leena Menon.

Dr Girish Kothegal conveyed Vote of Thanks acknowledging all the Audience, Key Note Speakers and Volunteers.

We sincerely thank you all for helping Indian Heritage Centre UK to continue to run the monthly events preferably focussing on intellectual programmes along with the regular events such as Yoga and Entertainment.

Dr Latha Durga works in Intensive Care Medicine who is a passionate classical singer with along her twin daughters Miss Adhya & Miss Shridha graced the occasion with their beautiful classical singing and Shri Ram Bhajan to celebrate Shri Ram Mandir Inauguration in Ayodhya, India.

We sincerely thank Dr Latha Durga and her talented Twin Daughters for taking time to grace the occasion.

Mr Ramesh Chandra Patel is one of the longest serving Councillor in Cardiff from Indian background . He served as a Councillor for 21 years and held numerous credible cabinet positions in Cardiff. He is passionate about Health & Fitness. He is a fully qualified personal trainer.

We were fortunate to have Mr Ramesh Patel at IHC Cardiff's monthly event on 03/02/2024, Saturday. He enlightened the significance of healthy eating and exercise which received very good response and interactivity.

03/02/2024: Yoga Session by Dr Rekha Girish in the IHC Cardiff’s monthly event.

Dr Rekha Girish is a Bharatanatyam Artist, Teacher, Choreographer and Examiner. She is an Arts award adviser for Trinity College in London and for Griffin College London. She is also an Academic Syllabus Consultant.

She runs her dance school called "Rekha Natya Academy" training lot of students who achieve excellent results.

She is also passionate about Yoga who is skilled in motivating the newcomers as well as engaging the regular Yoga Enthusiasts.

We sincerely thank Dr Rekha Girish for taking her time to conduct the session highly professionally.

We also thank Dr Girish who introduced the yoga session with a beautiful Shloka and moderated the Yoga Session.
