👇🏻👇🏻A little personal story of this sought after rosé. Got a chance to meet with it again thanks to Mr backpack 🫶🏻🍾

2 years ago, a great friend was so sweet to bring it to my birthday home party as a present while he’d never tried it before ; it was so generous of him and I’d love to share the bottle together asap; placed it in an ice bucket right next to us, we waited, chatted, laughed, turned around after 15 mins.. Wala .. the bottles was gone ! so we were looking for it, and somehow it was emptied! gone into few stomachs that never heard of Selosse at all… fine, I’d still wish to know how’s it taste and hear how much they love it … so I asked and one in an complaining tone said it’s “so sour”…. judging from the design of bottles, which I heard afterwards, she thought it’s a cheaply champagne so they just down it all… while thinking to myself “You have got to be kidding me,” as John Mac screamed at once upon a time .. my another friend overheard & kindly gave me his remaining sip. thinking to share the little sip w my friend, I placed it on my kitchen island wanting to have it breath a bit to taste at its best, turned around and it’s gone ! Where did it go ? The sink ! My helper actually thought it’s used glass and dumped it into drain to have it “cleaned “

… this will be a special story between me and this friend, , for rest of our lives 🫡

No one on earth would say no to a La Chapelle in my mind. It’s always majestic with their granite backbone (well.. let’s say the 90s were yes a bit shaky, light in style and tired for some but to me still very good. Recently had a 99 and it was def very enjoyable); one of best hermitage you can find .
Felt blessed to be invited at this intimate lunch by the Frey family to taste their portfolio of wine from Rhône La Chapelle (2006/11/21) to their Bordeaux La Laguna (20060/15) guided by Lune GAUCHOT, Marketing Manager of Domaine de La Chapelle from Northern Rhone and Château La Lagune.

2021 La Chapelle is the 1st year the name Paul Jaboulet Aîné has been removed from the label, changing the name from Jaboulet’s La Chapelle to Domaine de La Chapelle, still owned by the Frey family(proprietors of La Lagune and owners of Paul Jaboulet Aîné since 2006) , seek to make this entity into an independent domaine to recognize the work done by President and winemaker Caroline Frey and giving a clearer indication of excellence. ( the new winery also includes its white counterpart Le Chevalier de Sterimberg. Both were formerly labelled as part of the Domaine Paul Jaboulet Aîné portfolio. )
Accordingly, a new dedicated winery is under construction as of 2023 to be done in few years targeting 2026.
Alongside this name change, 2021 is the year Hermitage La Chapelle makes its début on La Place; the new wine is accompanied by a re-release of older vintages. .
Love their 2011 LaChapelle best at table !

Always great stuff . A benchmark producer of great Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah with seven estate vineyards; six in the Santa Cruz Mountains and one in Anderson Valley, each capable of producing uniquely compelling, distinctive, soil-driven wine. Retesting again at the well diversed portfolio tasting before flight.

A north (704) and a southern (707) hemisphere expressions of by and their grange 2009 were few of the most pleasurable. Oh by the way do you know why it is called 707? (See below👇🏻) .

💡 The wine is named after the Boeing 707 jet ✈️ , which was the first commercial aircraft to fly to Australia.

🌟2009 Grange Shiraz is comprised of 84% Barossa, 8% McLaren, and a little Clare Valley and a little Magill fruit with a small 2% of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend.

Lunch with German owner Sabine Eichbauer whom acquired Salicutti in 2016. we were treated with their 3 “cru” of Brunello Sorgente 2018 Piaggione 2018, and Teatro 2015/16 in magnum and a regular 17.
(While with the previous owner, Francesco Leanza, the grapes in Sorgente were generally used for the Rosso di Montalcino while Piaggione which may be recognized by fans of Salicutti (which blended with Teatro into the precious house Brunello. )

The mini vertical of this higher altitude parcel (o.7ha at 500-520m, an amphitheatre facing South) Teatro was quite a step up from Sorgente (the most accessible ) and Piaggione (concentrated and quite muscular ) to me, with greater complexity and elegance. Roses, raspberries, forest, orange peels and cinnamon. harmonious and very pretty.

🦅 even a magnum, glasses can be easily emptied with #2014

📝 Firm, silky fresh ; black and blue, bay leaves and violet; high energy love it💕
🥰 from eagle .wong . what a great night 🫡.
🦅
The production of Screaming Eagle has remained between 700-1,000 cases, and a second wine, the Second Flight now "The Flight", includes 520-800 cases. The introduction of a second wine is an attempt to keep Screaming Eagle at its mythical level of quality. This vineyard, situated on the valley floor at the Oakville Crossroads across the road from the Rudd Estate, encompasses 60 acres, but only a small percentage is used for these two cuvees.
🦅
Is “the flight” a second wine?
Until 2015 Screaming Eagle made a wine from younger vines called "Second Flight". However, this name was changed to "The Flight" in 2015, mainly because the wine became more and more merlot dominated over the years and the name "Second Flight" could possibly suggest that it was a second wine. And "second-rate" is obviously not a word that anyone would dare to associate with Screaming Eagle, and with higher percentage of merlot (57% merlot 43% cab in 2014) it is of different profile than the higher percentage of cab in screaming eagle itself. So no, as per winery standpoint as well it is surely not a 2nd 。

👋🏻U have tried Leroy gold capsule ? Share if u can 🤗

The “Hommage a L’An 2000”, is a unique Pinot Noir blended by Lalou, originally released in 2004 to celebrate the millennium, comprised of a mixture of Bourgogne Rouge cuvees and a number of unspecified village crus, all exclusively from vintages in the 90s with the majority of the wine coming from the 1999 vintage. This special bottling comes with a gold capsule and each bottle is individually numbered.

🤭Like it dirty? Not me, in wine 🤭but this is AND Not dirty which is great!

produced with the help of Jean-Marc from , Mainqué Chardonnay features up-front fruit, a salinity shared with the Chacra , and a tasty finish lent by the calcareous components of the alluvial soil in southern Argentina.

barrel-fermented. Aging continues in different batches: some is placed in concrete eggs, some in stainless steel tanks and the rest in French oak barrels. This lasts for 10 months, and is followed by a final blending.

One of best introduction to Argentine whites 🥳 thanks for showing me around !
