A 2011 mile journey designed to celebrate and raise awareness for small business innovation and entrepreneurialism begins with one single step.
How we organize:
1. Local business people and motivated individuals band together to create their local Seed Fund. Collectively, they offer guidance, support and mentorship to local small businesses and entrepreneurs seeking light seed capital in order to get their business off the ground.
2. No one involved in a local seed fund can materially benefit from their participation in the group.
3.
Our mantra is helping businesses succeed through a community effort.
4. We invest up to $50,000 per business opportunity and raise necessary funding through charitable contributions raised through the collective organization. To "fuel" this effort, a local fund leader will submit an organizational plan to Business Seed Fund, Inc. to receive up to $500,000 in investment capital for their first local seed fund initiative. How we support you:
1. Members of your local seed fund will create review committees who evaluate your business proposal.
2. If accepted, they will provide up to $50,000 in seed capital in exchange for 30% of your business. You will be able to "buy back" this equity by paying back your original investment plus a 5% annual rate of return within an up to three year period of time.
