Show 8: had a fantastic time opening with The Dollyrots ands on their stop here in Portland! Got to go old-school 4-Piece at this one, and even got to debut a brand new song! The might be my new favorite venue fantastic staff and the sound guy, Chris, was awesome! Also shout out to our bartender that evening, Xander - voted best bartender in ! And of course, big shout out to and for putting it on!
So what’s next? It’s back to the grind for more new music! Plan is to re-release a few old songs and drop a brand new one as well before the start of fall! At any rate, this show was a ton of fun and can’t wait to see what happens next! Thanks Portland 🙏!!

Show 7: Randomly decided to go out to and play a few songs on a Tuesday looking like your Ska-Punk loving uncle. It was a unique musical opportunity where I was really out of my element but it was fun and saw/met a lot of really cool artists! Go check out and .bleu who were fantastic! Also shout out to for hosting and putting this together 🙌!
Believe it or not, this was the first time in my life I ever played a set on my own in my 18 years of doing this. Good times! Nice tuneup for our show next Monday at The Star Theater with The Dollyrots and Dog Party (which y’all should come to).

Attention Drummers! We are seeking a drummer who can jump on a show next month (7/24) opening for the Dollyrots at the Star Theater in Portland. Here are the details:
-Super short set 5-7 songs (all songs are recorded and on-line to practice to).
-Practices take place weekly in Hillsboro.
-Enjoys playing power-pop/punk/emo stuff
-If you're in another band, no worries this is just a one off :).

Show 6: What can I say, this was incredible! This was my first show since early 2020 and this is the first Craig James & The Hawthorns show since 2019. We covered a bunch of Blink-182 just to do something and you folks showed out!! Thank you so much Portland!
Shout out to for hosting and putting this on. To for letting us grace their amazing stage and to their awesome staff. To and for playing with us! And of course to all of you amazing folks who came out.

Our Story
Welcome to the official page of C.J. & The Oregon Spirits.
I'm C.J. Dunn and normally the Vocalist/Lead Guitarist of the Rock/Pop/Alternative/Punk band, Laurelhurst. Throughout my musical endeavors I've written many, many songs. Many of these songs however, did not fit Laurelhurst's vibe but were still songs I enjoyed. This page/project is dedicated to expressing my other musical interests outside of what Laurelhurst does. I've always loved bands like The Killers, Deathcab for Cutie, Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls and just about anything else acoustic. This page is dedicated to my musical endeavors in that direction.
As I never really enjoyed doing things entirely by myself so I'll also be joined by a backing band comprised of my friends called, The Oregon Spirits. Sometimes I'll be joined by my fellow Laurelhurst members, friends from All Falls Through (the predecessor to Laurelhurst), and maybe some friends I've always wanted to play with but never had the chance to.
I'm really looking forward to getting out there and playing some tunes for you folks. Cheers!
