Olá a todos,

Gostaria de compartilhar algumas reflexões sobre o cenário atual da produção cultural no Brasil. Quando Bolsonaro foi eleito, muitos esperavam o fim do que chamavam de "mamata" da Lei Rouanet. No entanto, o que vimos não foi o fim da lei, nem prejudicou financeiramente artistas famosos como Caetano Veloso. O que aconteceu foi algo diferente.

O que aconteceu foi que muitos de nós que estávamos começando a produzir filmes independentes nos sentimos empurrados para uma situação de extrema dificuldade financeira. A verdade é que o financiamento público é essencial para a produção de filmes, não apenas no Brasil, mas em todo o mundo. Embora algumas histórias possam dizer o contrário, em Hollywood, por exemplo, também existe um uso significativo de financiamento público, mas este é canalizado através de investidores que, por sua vez, moldam o que é produzido e, frequentemente, enriquecem ainda mais, deixando os artistas mais desfavorecidos.

No Brasil, temos apenas os Editais como política pública, que são concursos meritocráticos, como uma das únicas formas de apoio à produção cultural. No entanto, a seleção desses projetos é subjetiva e burocrática, favorecendo as grandes produtoras em detrimento de profissionais independentes ou iniciantes. Isso significa que oportunidades que poderiam impulsionar carreiras, como a minha, terminam nas mãos de grandes produtores.

Quando Bolsonaro perdeu a eleição, e Lula foi eleito, muitos de nós respiraram aliviados, pensando que o período de turbulência havia passado. No entanto, os desafios persistem. Em São Paulo, a verba da Lei Paulo Gustavo foi sequestrada pelo governo do estado e condicionada a uma burocracia ainda mais excludente, minando os esforços que fizemos em 2022 para amenizar os danos causados pelo governo anterior.

A partir de outubro, pretendo escrever e publicar textos diversos como um blog, inicialmente mensalmente e, com o tempo, quinzenalmente. Sua participação e apoio nesta jornada são essenciais para que eu possa continuar a compartilhar minhas ideias e histórias.

O seu voto, suas escolhas políticas, têm impacto direto em nosso trabalho e nas nossas vidas. Hoje, aos 53 anos, me vejo em uma situação delicada, morando de favor e sem renda. Não sei ao certo como seguir em frente e continuar fazendo o que toda uma vida de dedicação me guiou: produzir filmes e contar histórias.

Peço a todos que reflitam sobre o poder das suas escolhas políticas e o impacto que elas têm na cultura popular e na vida de artistas independentes como eu. Juntos, podemos criar um ambiente mais favorável à produção cultural e ajudar a construir um futuro mais promissor para todos.

Agradeço a todos que têm apoiado e acreditado no meu trabalho ao longo dos anos. Com a sua ajuda, espero continuar contando histórias e compartilhando minha paixão com o mundo.
