Well, we feared this day would come eventually. With great sadness I have to announce that Pete, our bass player, who has been battling cancer since diagnosis a year ago, is now too poorly to continue performing. John, our drummer, has in the light of this decided that this is the juncture at which he wishes to retire. So we have done our last gig. Thanks to all who have supported our gigs over the last 5 years.
I (Chris) will be continuing in the same genre of music with the Black & Blues Band. There will be no further posts on this page so please see the Black & Blues FB page if you would like further info. This is the Borderline Blues Band signing off.
Thanks to all at The White Horse. We enjoyed ourselves, I broke a string (always a good sign) and the beer they brew out the back is the best around!
We're at The White Horse, Clun, this Friday, 21st March, 9pm.
If you crave an injection of blues & boogie & some wailing guitar solos be at The Salopian in Shrewsbury, 9pm Friday March 7th.
With the new year coming into view, here's what we have planned so far:
The Salopian, Shrewsbury. Friday, 7th Feb. 9pm
The White Horse, Clun. Friday, 21st March. 9pm
The Bowling Green, Nantwich. Sunday, 20th April. 8pm (Part of the Nantwich Jazz & Blues Festival)
Our special thanks to Matt Donaldson for joining us on bass for The Hen & Chickens gig, while Pete is recovering from surgery. Matt will be with us again this Friday, 22nd November, at The Exchange in Newtown. 9pm - and free entry.
Just back from a great time at the Frome Blues Fest. My recommendation for a totally terrific electric blues act if they come anywhere near you: The Nimmo Brothers. Sensational. Plus, of course, mucho respect to the Climax Blues Band who have an amazing groove.
We'll be at The Hen & Chickens, Bridgnorth, on Sat 2nd November at 9pm. Come on down & say hello!
Just back from playing a private festival for a very nice gentleman who saw us back in June & booked us. We had a great time - and what a good audience.
We'll be making our first visit to The Hen & Chickens in Bridgnorth on Sat Nov 2nd. Looking forward to playing this venue as the new landlord has been really building it as a music pub over the last year. In fact, Nov 2nd will be the first anniversary of his taking over.
We'll be at The Spread Eagle in Hereford on Sat 7th September. Looking forward to seeing a few Hereford friends. 8.30pm onwards.
After months of back & forth emails, mp3 files and detail submission, "Malvern Rocks" has offered us a slot at their festival, and mentioned now (for the first time) that they don't offer any money. What a bunch of ******s.
Good fun at The Fighting C***s, Stottesdon, last Saturday. A good crowd. Looking forward to our next visit.
Join us this Friday evening at The Exchange in Newtown at 9pm. And the next day, at the Ale in the Dale Festival at The Sun Inn, Corfton, nr Craven Arms, 7.30pm.
